It's been a busy few weeks at Solutions Driven. Travel...meetings...learnings. One of the major highlights was attending the Transform event a few weeks ago in Vegas. It's probably taken me a few weeks to actually absorb all the learnings from the event! Thanks to Enrique Rubio (he/him) for allowing me to be part of such an amazing movement. Some key themes/insights I picked up whilst there... 💡 How organisations are driving the integration of AI into the workplace and ensuring productivity and wellbeing gains. 🔴 But how already we can see an AI Gender Gap and what impact this will have moving forward. ✔ One speaker (can't remember who, sorry!) said HR is the new PR - and the importance of companies having a tone of voice, position and constructive communication when it relates to societal events. 👍 DEI and ESG - companies need to be there for the movement, not the moment! 👨👩👧👦 5 generations in the current workforce - and are companies clear on how their culture, infrastructure and policies align to generational needs? 🌍 The ongoing flexible v hybrid v remote v office debate! Not sure what the right answer is here! ➗ The movement of Fractional talent is increasing - and will become more common at all levels in the organisation. But.... what's equally exciting is we launched our local Scottish Transform Chapter this week - great attendees and a great opportunity to make a difference. More on that soon! #transform24 #futureofwork #futureofworkforce

📈 Key Takeaways from "The Future of Work 2024" in London 🌍 After an incredible few days at "The Future of Work 2024", I wanted to share some of the key ideas that resonated the most: Redefining the Nature of Work Automation and AI are not just about improving efficiency—they're about redefining the very nature of work. By 2030, 50% of jobs could be automated, and 90% of today's skills might become obsolete in the next 3-5 years. The future of work is not about replacing humans but making work more human by focusing on creativity and meaningful connections. Skill-Based Organizations Transitioning to a Skill-Based Organization (SBO) can increase productivity, expand capacity, and reduce hiring time. SBOs value skills over traditional roles, allowing for flexibility, continuous learning, and better talent utilization. It's time to adapt, reskill, and redeploy talent to create a workforce that's Fit for Growth. What Gen Z Values in Careers A recent study on Gen Z career preferences shows that 64% value career growth opportunities above all else, followed by competitive salary & benefits (58%) and work-life balance (57%). To attract and retain Gen Z talent, organizations must prioritize meaningful growth, flexibility, and a healthy work environment. Diversity and Inclusion Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) are becoming non-negotiable for organizations aiming to thrive in the future of work. A diverse workforce brings fresh perspectives and innovative ideas, while an inclusive culture ensures that every voice is heard and valued. Companies that prioritize D&I are not only more attractive to top talent but also demonstrate better business performance. It's about creating environments where everyone, regardless of their background, can thrive and contribute. Toby Mildon, a Diversity and Inclusion Architect, shared valuable insights on how inclusivity is essential for workplace evolution. His emphasis on creating workplaces where everyone can thrive aligns perfectly with the broader transformation we are seeing today. According to Toby, building an inclusive environment is not just beneficial for individuals but drives organizational growth and innovation. It's clear that the future of work will require agility, reskilling, and a focus on human-centric values. I'm excited to be part of this journey and look forward to seeing more organizations evolve in this direction! 🚀 #FutureOfWork #SkillBasedOrganization #GenZ #DiversityAndInclusion #TobyMildon #WorkplaceTransformation #Innovation #AI #Learning

Unlock the future of work with exclusive insights straight from our keynote speaker, Dr. Dale Whelehan 📢✨ Ahead of his appearance on stage at WORKTECH24 Manchester, we asked Dr. Dale Whelehan, CEO 4 Day Week - Global for his perspectives on the future of the workplace. 💡 In promoting equitable experience, what considerations should businesses keep in mind for both in-person and remote workers? 💬 I think it can be boiled down to one thing and one thing only for building equity – evaluate people over their performance and their outcomes, not their time. 💡How can organisations ensure clarity of purpose and foster team bonding in a hybrid work setting? 💬 Research shows that effective communication, intentional focus on understanding team dynamics, and a strengths-based approach to human resource management is key to building high performance culture, irrespective of setting. 💡In today’s rapidly evolving landscape, what role do you envision artificial intelligence (AI) will play in reshaping the future of work? 💬 I hope it will help humans access new capabilities in innovation and creativity. By freeing up the cognitive load from manual repetitive work through automation, humans can begin to make better decisions for business and for society 💡And if we look out five years into the future from today – What are your thoughts and perspectives for the corporate workplace of the future? 💬 Optimistically, a world of work where the equation is sustainable wellbeing = sustainable performance = sustainable practices in business = a sustainable impact on society. Getting to that point however requires placing human sustainability at it’s core when designing interventions for mental health and wellbeing. People keep thinking that we're going to return to some pre-pandemic level. That's completely wrong. - Nick Bloom Your crystal ball tells you pretty convincingly, if we look five, certainly ten years out, the technologies we're using will be dramatically better. And as a result, the number of days that we work from home will be up. - Nick Bloom We know from the data (days working from home) has fallen from 2020. We're now in the flat bit, and we're about to start heading up again. Even three years from now, I think it's a pretty safe bet we'll be working from home more days than less. - Nick Bloom -------------------------------------- Nick sits on the data. His longitudinal SWAA data, the Kastle Systems data, the Flex Index data, and more. The massive investment in enabling technologies will only accelerate this trend. Fewer days in traditional offices, not a return to 2019. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with new and familiar faces alike at CoreNet Global UK Chapter Future Focus Conference last week. There’s such a strong sense of community in our industry - connected by our collective drive to learn, grow, and shape the future of the workplace. Some key takeaways that resonated with me, especially from an inspiration key-note session: • PRODUCTIVITY 💡 - In a world where we are constantly juggling tasks, we often confuse being busy with being truly productive. It’s time we shift our focus from simply getting things done to allowing space for deep focus to allow for innovation and long term growth. • RESILIENCE 💪- Too many organisations are operating on endurance; just keep pushing. Cultivating a resilience culture is essential for sustainable success, and that means prioritising renewal - recovery and rest is so important for high performance. • PSYCHOLOGICAL SAFETY 🌱 - True leadership is about creating an environment where people feel safe to take risks, fail, and grow. Interestingly, psychological safety and scale are inversely related, which is why we need to make time for 1:1s with our teams, rather than them being the first things to drop from the diary when work ramps up. And the biggest reminder of all: 🌟 We must embrace the imperfection and make peace with the fact that we will never be done with our to-do lists, and take enjoyment in the journey we’re on. 🌟 (It was also refreshing to hear that despite the rise of AI and tech skills, softer people focused skills and roles like change management and workplace strategy are still in high demand - so, I’m not out of a job just yet! 😅) A huge thank you to Deutsche Bank for being such great hosts—it’s clear that you have truly designed your new space with the employee experience in mind, and along with other inspirational panel members, are passionate about creating environments where people can thrive. #CoreNet #Leadership #WorkplaceStrategy #EmployeeExperience #FutureOfWork #Resilience #SustainablePerformance #FutureFocus #PowerofPeople #OneSizeFitsNobody #HarnessingData #Community #EmbracetheJourney
