Keep it brief 🎬 When allowing awards entrants to upload videos, it's normal for length to vary from one entry to another. Award Force now allows you to set minimum and maximum video length, saving you (and your judges) precious time! https://hubs.ly/Q02wDDWn0 #AwardForceTips

Hints and Tips... Who's judging a particular award can be a good way to ascertain just how prestigious and credible a particular award is. Questions you might like to ask yourself are; 1. Is the judge a previous winner and if so what experience and prejudices are they bringing to the judging table? 2. Is the judge also a sponsor of the awards they're judging? If so does this give them anymore say-so than any other judge? 3. Is the judge also entering the awards (either individually or via their business) and if so how is that being treated by the award organisers? What you're looking for is clear judging criteria and transparency thereby ensuring you know your nomination will get as fair an opportunity as anyone else around that table (virtual or otherwise). Don't be afraid to ask questions. Entering (and winning!) awards takes time. Make sure you invest it wisely gaining the maximum benefit for your efforts. Do you have a question for us? If so ask away and we'll endeavour to answer them as quickly as we can. Still Thinking of Entering? There's Still Time! There is still plenty of time to submit a knockout entry into the 2024 Event Awards. Past entrants have reported needing only a couple of hours to pull together their entry...don't forget - you've already done all the thinking, designed and delivered the event or achievement - all you have to do is put it into words and tell us about it! With the new, simplified entry form, with a maximum of 2,600 words, it's easier than ever to enter. Tell the Judges about you event or achievement, what did you achieve, what were the complexities, how was it creative and an asset to the industry, what were your challenges? If you start today, that's only 434 words a day to get to the finish line! https://lnkd.in/g8P-s-NG

Judging the Loerie Awards 2024 has been one of my best experiences as a judge to date. Sure, I may turn into a bit of a grumpy-grump as the clock nears midnight, nevermind 2am (hello, pumpkin mode 🕛), but after some reflection, I can confidently say it was a magnificent experience. Why, you ask? A few reasons: 1️⃣ We had an amazing jury president, Jack Renwick, who made sure we gave each piece of work the attention it deserved—no matter how tired we were. The work remained the focus. 2️⃣ The jury was an incredible group of individuals from different disciplines, backgrounds, cultures, and personalities—each leaving their ego at the door and focusing purely on recognising excellence. Shout out to: Seyoan Vela Rayyan Aoun Deepesh Jha Giovanni Borde gaby de abreu Wanda Priem Nomonde Mtetwa Jineil Kandasamy Vumile Mavumengwana Joanne Johnson Matt Thompson 3️⃣ The Loeries team was phenomenal. Despite being under immense pressure and tired themselves, they ensured we had the space and support to judge in the best possible way. 4️⃣ The finish line - nothing motivates like the promise of a “wee dram” at the end of the judging. As for the work? You'll just have to wait and see—tonight is the big reveal! 🎉 A final thought to everyone who entered: 💡 Remember: For the jury to have seen your work means it had merit. If it became a finalist, a panel of experts believed it deserved serious consideration. And if it wins, it was the most innovative, on-brand, audience-relevant, and excellently executed piece in its category. So, whether you win or not, be proud of what you've created! #LoerieAwards2024 #JudgingExperience #CreativeExcellence #Grateful #Innovation #PushingBoundaries #CelebratingCreativity

We live in a world where we’re constantly fed a newsfeed of trophies. Another promotion. Another award. Another acknowledgement. Another “win.” Comparison is looking at someone’s progress and thinking: they’re better/further along/smarter/stronger/faster than me. Inspiration is looking at someone’s progress and thinking: look what they were able to do, maybe I can do something like that too? I find it easier to by inspired by someone’s words or actions rather than their medals. Medals aren’t bad, but they’re often the catalyst for comparison because they’re designed to emulate a status. Comparison is looking at other people’s progress as the absence of your own. Inspiration is looking at other people’s progress as evidence that it’s possible for you. Know the difference before you scroll 💛
