Diverse, equitable, anti-racist, inclusive, and accessible theatre does not begin and end with the work onstage. Sammy Lopez and The Industry Standard Group are doing the important work of amplifying BIPOC investors and producers. Please consider contributing to their mission if you are able! There need to be seats at *every* table for folks of all backgrounds. Presenting works featuring varied experiences is not nearly enough. Inclusivity at every level and step of the theatre-making process must be realized, from conception to production. And, may I add, this includes audiences as well! Without intentionally creating a welcoming space for all, by acknowledging and actively dismantling a host of factors that thwart the crucial sense of belonging all audience members should feel, the work onstage can only go so far.
Let’s keep building together. Your support drives our work and expands our impact! The Industry Standard Group is thankful for our co-founders, staff, and YOU! Thank you for helping us diversify the theater industry. Help us grow by making a tax-deductible donation today: https://lnkd.in/ebDFPbV6 #TISG #Support #SocialImpact #InnovationInAction

In talking with development professionals, a common concern is often around the transition from one software to another. At Classy we make it SUPER easy to switch your tech and ensure no gaps in donation, and that you start transacting more, immediately. If being hesitant to upgrade your platform comes from a fear of the added work for the transition, lets chat.
World Changers Church International's conversion rate on its donation form has quadrupled, exceeding industry standards. They've also seen a 12% increase in the average one-time donation size within two months of switching to Classy, highlighting how easy it is for supporters to give. I love this post's sentiment, acknowledgement, and concept, but not the word 'unbearable', and it is not just because of my REBT psychotherapy training. Words matter. I learnt that long ago, and I use words significantly in all aspects of my life: work, rest, and play. As a grief therapist and educator, I speak to the bereaved more days than not. These people are bearing their grief because that is what we do; no matter how difficult, we bear it. If something were unbearable, then we could not endure it and go on. There are so many inspiring people who I could link to this article. They have borne the most unfathomable losses, and now they continue meaning-making, understanding, and growing daily around their loss. Some have created charities; you can see/feel/hear the moments when grief visits when speaking. They bear it. They bear their loss daily. I am in awe of them, learn from them, and work with them. This matters, words matter. Albert Ellis, the founder of rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy, which I am a student of, would say that if we cannot bear something, we will no longer be able to exist. When we change the irrational thought that something is unbearable, we can reinforce the premise that it is bearable and start growing around our grief. If we communicate our intentions by using words that cause psychological disturbance, consciously or unconsciously, they become words that we can easily access and start giving them power. Snap me in half, and like a stick of rock, you would see the words Cruse Bereavement Support written through me, which is why I care so much about the words. Marcus Aurelius Don't try to picture everything bad that could possibly happen. Stick with the situation at hand, and ask, “Why is this so unbearable? Why can't I endure it?” You'll be embarrassed to answer. Then remind yourself that past and future have no power over you. The Stoic philosophers teach us much about grief, especially Marcus Aurelius, the most powerful man on earth at the time. And Epictetus, the slave philosopher. Failing that, pop culture will suffice. Please Spread the Word.
I spoke with the organizer of this fundraiser. Section C and I have decided to donate two tickets. What tickets you say? If you donate 10 items from the flyer you’ll be entered in a raffle to see Kirk Cousin take on Patrick Mahomes at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on September 22, 2024. I would like to bring donation boxes to Accounting Offices in the area. If you would like to participate I can be reached at michael.s.jones@irs.gov.

How would you compare spending 760 million to restore a historic church to saving 50,000 lives? How would you compare the arson of such a church to killing 50,000 people? I have an opinion, but I also find this topic endlessly interesting.
Should we really worry about how much good our donations do? According to a recent New York Times piece, maybe not. I disagree. So does Dylan Matthews, and in my latest post on Bold Reasoning, I explain why. You can read “Why charity should be optimized” here: https://lnkd.in/g2AVS3MT

Ever wondered specifically how PreventEd uses donations? Your support makes a direct difference in the prevention space! It's not a stretch to say that a singular donation could save a life. As we approach the end of the year, please consider the widespread impact you could have on the community, or the deep change you may influence in an individual through your support.
