Every year, we celebrate incredible women shaping the future across various industries, but the numbers in tech paint a different story. Only 26.7% of tech jobs worldwide are held by women. Here's how we can all work together to increase these numbers. 🟪 Integrate engaging STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) programs in schools, starting early on, to spark girls' interest in these fields. 🟪Showcase successful women in tech through workshops, talks, and mentorship programs. This provides young girls with relatable figures and inspiration. 🟪Foster a work environment free from bias and discrimination. Promote teamwork and collaboration, valuing different perspectives. 🟪 Offer flexible work schedules, childcare options, and parental leave policies to address practical challenges faced by women. Let's all pledge to implement these strategies and create a more welcoming and inclusive environment for women in every industry, not just tech. Let's #InspireInclusion and empower the next generation of women in tech! #women #iwd2024 #womeninbusiness #womenempowerment #inspireinclusion #breakingbarriers #tsd #womenintech #genderequality

It's time for businesses in the tech sector to prioritise diversity, especially by empowering women in STEM. With only 35% of STEM students in the UK being female, leaders must actively create inclusive environments and inspire the next generation of female tech talent. Fostering diversity will not only enhance innovation but also reflect the realities of a socially savvy workforce. See more here: https://heyor.ca/YndOQp #STEM #TechIndustry #WomenInTech #Diversity

🌟 Inspiring Girls to Pursue Careers in Tech: A Dialogue from TechSheCan 🌟 Recently, I asked a question in the "TechSheCan: Women Empowering Women in Technology" Facebook group, to explore methods of introducing STEM careers to young girls in schools. This discussion served as a reminder of our crucial role in molding the future of technology, particularly for women. I inquired about the effectiveness of collaborating with local school systems for events like "Career Day," or organizing presentations to showcase tech careers for women. This inquiry led to a flurry of insightful responses, reflecting our community's collective wisdom and experiences. Marnie Stockman described her involvement with STEM programs in Maryland, noting their ongoing need for business advisors and volunteers. She highlighted the fulfilling experience of judging student capstone projects, illustrating a tangible way to motivate the next generation. Kelly Weber Francisco brought attention to the Great American Teach-In in Florida, akin to Career Day. She observed that while elementary schools often successfully attract speakers, middle and high schools struggle more. This disparity unveils a unique chance for us to influence young minds, particularly in emerging fields like cybersecurity and robotics clubs, which are gaining popularity yet are in need of greater female participation. These discussions transcend mere talk – they represent a call to action for each of us. Whether it's through engagement in local school events, mentorship in clubs, or simply by sharing our own journeys, every action we take is crucial in encouraging young girls to envision themselves as future leaders in tech. As members of this vibrant channel, we hold the power and opportunity to effect change. Let's unite, exchange resources, and proactively search for ways to empower the upcoming generation of women in technology. I'm eager to hear more ideas and stories from my connections here. How have you played a role in guiding girls towards tech careers? Let’s continue this conversation and transform our ideas into impactful actions! And join us in TechSheCan to continue these types of discussions: https://lnkd.in/dnNYMYjW #TechSheCan #WomenInTech #STEMEducation #Empowerment #FutureLeaders

Did you know? Women make up less than a third of the global workforce in technology-related fields. 🌍 Despite incredible advances in innovation, there’s a significant gender gap that still needs addressing. This gap isn’t just about statistics; it represents untapped potential, perspectives, and creativity that could shape a more inclusive future in technology. When women enter tech, they bring fresh perspectives, unique approaches to problem-solving, and diverse life experiences. These are crucial for creating products and services that meet the needs of everyone. And yet, barriers like gender stereotypes, lack of role models, and limited access to mentorship continue to hinder the growth of women in tech. It’s time for a shift. 💡 As organizations, communities, and individuals, we can play a role in breaking down these barriers. By empowering young girls to explore STEM fields, fostering inclusive workplaces, and supporting women already in tech, we can pave the way for future leaders in the industry.
