Reflecting on a Successful Cybersecurity Awareness Month in October I am thrilled to reflect on #Cisco South Africa’s vibrant participation in Cybersecurity Awareness Month. We’ve had impactful and engaging conversations on key platforms to raise awareness around cybersecurity and reinforce Cisco’s role as a leader in cybersecurity and AI. Here are three standout moments from this meaningful month: 1. Digitization Africa 2024 – I was honoured to share a panel with inspiring thought leaders like Galeboe Mogotsi, Grant Hughes, Kenneth Palliam, and our exceptional moderator, Nyimpini Mabunda. Our discussion, “Navigating Security in the Age of AI,” focused on pressing cybersecurity issues facing South Africa and beyond. We unpacked the essentials of a strong cybersecurity and AI foundation: people, process, and technology, emphasizing the need for deeper partnerships with government, corporate, and academia. 2. IDC Cloud + AI CIO Summit – Our own Cisco cybersecurity specialist, Nabeel Rajab, shared insights on the intersection of AI and cybersecurity, discussing practical strategies for resilience against evolving cyber threats. The message was clear: if it’s #connected, it’s #protected. 3. IT Web Brainstorm Magazine x Cisco Roundtable – This roundtable offered a unique opportunity to engage with public sector leaders and professionals from various industries, focusing on building a secure digital future through continuous innovation and responsible AI integration.
