Did you know that today is International Men’s Day? Today at DIT, the Gender Community of Practice group hosted an insightful lunchbox panel discussion which focused on men’s health and wellbeing - a topic that often doesn’t get the attention it deserves! The session, titled Men’s Health Champions, brought together four inspiring speakers who shared their personal journeys, emphasizing the importance of prioritising health and well-being. From balancing leadership responsibilities, navigating major career changes to overcoming life-altering challenges like cancer and stroke. Some of the key messages were: ✨ The importance of routine and how it provides stability during difficult times. ✨ The strength in vulnerability and the value of openly sharing struggles rather than internalizing them. ✨ Prioritising health - both physical and mental as a non-negotiable aspect of life. A big thank you to our incredible panelists, Andrew Excell, Josh Hubbard, Robert Kane and Curtly Hampton for their honesty, courage and vulnerability. Your stories are a powerful reminder of fostering open conversations around men’s health. As we celebrate International Men’s Day, let’s continue to break the stigma, create supportive spaces for men to share their experiences, and encourage everyone to prioritise their health and wellbeing. #internationalmensday2024 #DIT

Did you know that globally, women are 36% more likely to report psychological distress than men? Yet, only 22% of women feel they have time to care for their emotional well-being. Today was an inspiring morning at the Miramar Pembroke Pines Regional Chamber of Commerce Women's Wellness Conference! 💼💃 As we delved into discussions on empowering women's health and well-being, I couldn't help but reflect on the importance of prioritizing our holistic wellness journey. 💪🌺 Additionally, when it comes to physical health, studies show that women are more prone to autoimmune diseases, affecting them at rates up to 9 times higher. These statistics underscore the urgency of conversations like the ones we had today, where we come together to support and uplift one another. 🌍💬 In the midst of these conversations, I'm reminded of the power of flourishing. 🌟🌷 It's not just about surviving; it's about thriving in every aspect of our lives. This drives my passion and brand - I want each and every one of you to flourish. So take those flowers in the picture and go flourish! 🌸 UFlourish 🌸 I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of such an empowering community and mission. 💖🙌 Here's my question for you: What's one small step you're committed to taking towards prioritizing your wellness? #WomensWellness #UFlourishCoaching #EmotionalFreedomandWellness

You had me at "a fruit bowl is not a wellbeing strategy" Venessa Almond. While many organisations say the wellbeing of their people is their number one priority, very few have a strategy to deliver on this. How refreshing to spend yesterday with people who truly get 'it', and are committed to helping organisations shift the dial. Huge thanks to you Venessa, Steve Gregory and the Aon team for your passion for helping clients create more resilient workplaces, and for bringing to life through the presentations and speakers the 'how' and the 'why'. It was an absolute honour to share the floor with you Raghav Murali-Ganesh, and quite emotional to hear firsthand the difference the Osara Health programme has made to people in the room and their colleagues. A month ago I sat on a panel with a Judge and two lawyers talking about 'Women in Governance'. Yesterday with an Oncologist I admire greatly, speaking about 'Cancer in the Workplace'. A month ago, I wondered what right I had to be there. Yesterday, I realised we really have turned a corner. I left incredibly positive and hopeful that we're finally starting to bring to life the 'why' vs. the 'what'. That we're creating connection through purpose. We weren't there because of what we do. We were there because of why we do it. We may have different backgrounds and expertise, but we share a common purpose, we come to work to change lives. How's that for meaning over function? #leadership #authenticity #connection #changinglives
