Happy Holidays from WitWorks! Here’s a simple yet fun game you can play this season when gathering with friends and family. Name: Common Word Directions: * Group (3-12) stands in circle. * Two people standing next to each other begin the game by turning to each other, making eye contact, and each saying a single random word at the same time on the count of 3. * The person on left then turns to their immediate left to find their new partner. * This time instead of saying a random word on the count of 3, the pair tries to find the COMMON WORD between the previous two words that were said. * The goal of the game is to have two people say the same word, the common word, at the same time. * Example: Set of random words were “juice” and “champagne". So the next pair count to 3 and say the common word “mimosa" at the same time. Hurray! * The game continues clockwise until a common word is found. Finding the common word can take a few rounds! No conspiring ahead of time! Be patient, keep a steady pace (no long hesitations), and celebrate once it is found. * Tip: Try not to repeat words. When playing the game for the first few times, it's okay to let that slide. But after that, the rule of not repeating words adds a wonderful next level of challenge.

Christmas gifts and inspiration: 🎁 You never know where a spark will begin. If you’re celebrating Christmas, I hope you’ve enjoyed the day. It’s easy to have thoughts turn to the past during these hours each year. For me, there’s something timeless about the traditions involved, regardless of my location or the people I surround myself with. Today was no different. As the tree twinkled and wrapping paper flew to all corners of the carpet, I thought back to a few Christmas mornings when I was a kid. A direct line can be drawn from those experiences to the path life has taken me as an adult. Many years ago, Santa delivered my first personal computer. (With Windows 95!) A few years later, a laptop appeared. (A Gateway!) That’s not to mention the various games and consoles that became Christmas gifts over time. (A PlayStation 2 was my all-time favorite.) It’s a time of year for wonder, and it’s neat to think about the sparks that formed today. They can lead us in rewarding directions. #UXWriting #ContentDesign #ContentStrategy

Long-distance grandparents have mixed emotions when it comes to screen time—a blessing for staying in touch, but too much of it? What if screen time could be less about mindless watching and more about connecting? 🎨 Create Together: Apps like Skribbl or simply drawing on camera can turn “just another call” into an art show. 🧩 Play Online Games: Check out family friendly games like online Pictionary or play a round of “20 Questions.” You’ll be laughing together in no time. 🍳 Share a Mini Cooking Session: No travel required. From microwave mug cakes to simple snacks, sharing a recipe together over video creates sweet moments—and treats! And, of course, our favorite way to connect: 📚 Story Time, Your Style: Create a story together. Start by picking a character or setting, then take turns adding the next sentence. One moment it’s about a brave squirrel, the next a spaceship—let your imaginations run wild! You’re not just filling time—you’re sharing special moments. And isn’t that what grandparenting is all about, near or far? Have a creative idea for making screen time special? Share it in the comments!

The Secret - Why Little Surprise Box Loves Telling Stories! Have you ever remembered a store because of a joke they told you, instead of just the toys they sell? That's the magic of stories! We all love stories! They make us laugh, cheer, and remember things way easier. It's the same with our favorite stores - they can build a special friendship between them and us. So, how does Little Surprise Box use stories to be your friend? 1. We don't just talk about the cool stuff in our boxes, we tell you a story about the exciting adventure your surprise box could take you on! 2. We share stories of other kids who got Little Surprise Boxes, so you can see their joy when they open them and discover all the treasures inside! 3. We use fun stories to make you wonder what might be hiding in your very own box – is it a pirate treasure, a space explorer kit, or maybe even a box of funny jokes? . Stories make us feel all sorts of things, and that's what makes a store more than just a place with a fancy logo. It becomes a friend you can trust, someone who always has a happy surprise waiting for you! . Want to unlock the power of stories for yourself? Think about how you want to feel when you play with your toys (happy? excited?) & imagine stories that would make you feel that way. Remember, toys aren't just things, they're the start of amazing adventures! So listen to stories, and watch your playtime become even more awesome!

Do you ever look around and feel like you're 2-3 steps behind? Me too... and here's what I learned: Comparison is easy. It’s also dangerous. Years ago, I used to look at others and constantly play the "compare" myself game. Skill. Impact. Title. Financial security. I learned that these status games we play are so silly. I learned that comparison is the thief of joy. You can’t compare your life to someone’s highlight reel. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗻? You now vs. You yesterday. You now vs. You 10 days ago. You now vs. You 10 months ago. Everybody has their own struggle. Their own doubts. Their own failures. The only person worth comparing yourself to? You vs. past you. ♻️ Reshare if this resonates with you Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments.

🎃 Whack A Dummy is live! It’s a job-search-inspired stress reliever disguised as a Halloween Whack A Mole type of game, and honestly, it’s exactly what I needed after months of getting ghosted by job apps. Picture this: every time a dummy pops up, you whack it. Hard. Rack up points, feel better, repeat. It’s amazing what a little virtual smackdown can do for morale. After enough auto-rejections to last a lifetime, I decided to revive one of my old React projects and turn it into a full-on office-meets-Halloween stress-buster. Built with React + TypeScript, it’s now a shiny little PWA that anyone can play whenever they need a break from real life. 🔗 Check out the game here: https://lnkd.in/gtZDqbth 🔗 Code’s out in the open too: https://lnkd.in/g9QGSWxQ And hey, if you know someone hiring, I’m very much open to work (and running out of things to whack in this game). #Creativity #Motivation #Games #WebDevelopment #React #TypeScript #Halloween #OfficeGames #StressRelief #OpenToWork
