✨ Tenant Spotlight: Java Nation Inc ✨ It’s been an honor to support Simona Cabana & Henry Cabana at Java Nation from their earliest concept to the thriving brand they are today, now with four successful locations. Since helping open Java Nation's first location, our own Andy Hotchkiss has been there every step of the way—offering insight and support as their vision took shape, adapting to their needs as they expanded, and playing a vital role in each of their four additional locations. Here’s what they had to say about Andy’s impact: "Andy has been with us from the very beginning and has helped us grow based on our needs. His relationships and knowledge have been invaluable to us. We are excited for our next store… stay tuned!" At Winmar Advisory, we are honored to partner with inspiring brands like Java Nation, helping them bring unique concepts to life and achieve their growth goals. In our early days, this was a huge issue. Assigning another developer to jump into a project? Avoid it if possible – there was just too much overhead! But today, things look very different. I’m proud of the standardization we’ve built over the years: 🔹Consistent repository structure: All repositories follow the same layout. 🔹Centralized deployment & setup: Everything related to deployment and local development is centralized, with minimal configuration in each project repository. 🔹Quick setup: An interactive command sets up the local environment with a current test database for any project, 90% automatically. 🔹Same environment everywhere: Thanks to Docker, every project runs in the same environment on every machine. Now, switching between projects is a breeze – fast setup and immediate familiarity. Even external developers can be fully onboarded in under an hour. 🚀 What was once an iceberg-sized challenge has melted away into a smooth, scalable process. 🔥 A huge thank you to the open-source maintainers who made this possible, especially: - Mark Shust for his docker-magento project - Anton Medvedev for his deployer-php project Your contributions have been invaluable in shaping our workflow! 🙏

Jax 5.0 has arrived here at Jobot! OG Jax has experienced all 5 iterations of Jax the software. When asked what his thoughts are about the Jax 5.0 release, he went on to say... "Jax 5.0 brings all the great features from 1-4 and adds that 5.0 punch to it! My only suggestion would be to integrate more high protein treats!" OK, OG Jax didn't actually say that, but he is certainly hoping for more treats (: #recruiting #recruitment #staffing #changinglives

The first time I encountered an open-source project, years ago, I was skeptical. 🤔 It didn't make sense to me how an open-source project could make money. And from a business point of view, I didn't understand how sharing the "secret sauce" and getting rid of a competitive advantage could be anything other than risky. Obviously, I've changed my tune now as Moddio (Mod Studio)'s game engine is completely open-source. Because open-source is more than just code - it's about transparency and collaboration. Especially in today's environment - where we've seen game engines turn around and change their business model on a dime 😔 - building trust with developers is particularly important. This transparency not only shows our commitment, but also allows for more eyes on the code to catch vulnerabilities quickly. But the real magic lies in our community. 🌍 Opening our codebase allows devs to collaborate, bringing fresh ideas, innovative features, and optimizations we hadn’t imagined. 🚀 This collaborative environment is why developers want to use Moddio—they can contribute to something bigger than themselves. And so open-source is actually a strategic advantage; it reduces development costs, accelerates innovation, and creates a product that evolves rapidly with market demands. Let me know what other open-source projects you've seen/worked on below! 👇 #opensource #gamedev #transparency #collaboration #innovation #nocode #moddio #gamingindustry

Open Source: My Journey from User to Contributor Open-source software fuels the tech world, and I've always been a grateful user. But recently, I took the leap to become an open-source contributor – and let me tell you, it's been awesome! Contributing is about more than just code. It's about giving back to the community that empowers us all. It's about sharpening your skills alongside experienced devs and learning new approaches. Plus, it adds a serious boost to your professional profile! Thinking about joining the open-source movement? It's not as scary as it seems. Find a project you're passionate about, start small (fixing bugs, documenting code), and tap into the fantastic online communities for support. #BeTheChange

🎉 Exciting News! 🎉 I'm thrilled to share that I've made my first contribution to the open-source community! Contributing to open-source projects has been a goal of mine for quite some time, and I am excited to have taken this first step. I had the opportunity to work on the Customer Review project, where I developed a page based on specific requirements. It was an incredible learning experience, and I am grateful to have collaborated with such a talented community of developers. I am currently waiting for my first open-source pull request to get approved 🤞 , and I'm excited to see it integrated into the project. If you are new to the open-source community and want to start somewhere, check out the link below for a good first issue ✨. Take a look at any repository you are interested in, check out the issue page, and follow the contribution.md file to start contributing. First Good Issue: https://lnkd.in/gnyeiBvi A big thank you to everyone involved for their guidance and support throughout this process. Looking forward to contributing more and continuing to grow as a developer. #OpenSource #FirstContribution #TechCommunity #SoftwareDevelopment #WebDevelopment #JavaScript #Coding #Programming #Developers #TechCareers #Learning #Innovation #GitHub #Collaboration #DevCommunity #TechForGood

Hi all!!! For a couple of days, I was involved in planning and building an open-source project. While building multiple projects, I came across a problem, it was writing some redundant APIs, e.g. authentication APIs. With this in mind, came a cross "Commencer" wherein all such APIs are/can be written with the help of the open-source community. Most of the work done is for setting up GitHub repo, programming, and testing parts for authentication APIs. I will be posting an update as soon as this repo comes up as usable. I hope it becomes available as npm package and template repository for beginners to create their projects and do the actual work. If anyone is willing to help setup contributions guide or test cases in jest before actually opening repo to issues, do drop a dm. #opensource

🚀 Contributing to Open-Source: Empowering Developers Together 🚀 As a developer, I’ve always believed in the power of collaboration, and open-source projects are the perfect example of what we can achieve when we work together. I’m proud to contribute to the open-source community, especially through Outport, a Node.js library designed to simplify API testing and documentation. 🔗 Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/dAeq6evs 💻 Test Outport in Action You can try the Outport playground and see how easy it is to test and document your endpoints here: https://bugstuck.com/docs Outport provides features like auto-generated API docs, seamless debugging, and easy environment-specific configurations, making it easier for developers to work with APIs. It’s been incredible seeing the positive impact this project has had, and I’m committed to continuing its growth in 2025. Open-source is about more than just code, it’s about building a supportive community, solving real-world problems, and constantly learning from each other. If you’re working on an open-source project or have ideas for collaboration, I’d love to connect! Let’s keep innovating and contributing to the developer community. 💡 #OpenSource #NodeJS #API #WebDevelopment #Collaboration #Innovation #DevCommunity #SoftwareDevelopment #Coding #TechCommunity #OpenSourceContributions #DeveloperLife #TechInnovation #Programming

Just got mentioned from my first open-source contribution this week. It's easier than you think and it's an awesome "plus" for your portfolio. I wrote my feedback and a short guide about how to do it in my blog: https://lnkd.in/dA7cFtCJ #dev #code
