This is where NeXtWind comes in: We focus on repowering & optimization of the energy locations – replacing old wind turbines with modern, more powerful models while working with the communities and latest regulations to extend the usuable area for further innovative green energy production. 💡 Why is this important? In 2023, wind energy already provided 31% of Germany's electricity. But we have even bigger goals: 115 gigawatts by 2030. Repowering & optimization is the key to reaching these goals and driving the energy transition forward. 📈 Our Vision is to produce as much green energy as possible. Our initial goal of 1 GW, quadruppling our size, was already achieved within 1 year instead of 3 years – and we're far from done. It is important to address existing challenges that affect many of the international investors in Chile and to push for the implementation of political promises, in particular the expansion of the grid. Further on we expect the reduction of lateral costs (e.g. minimo technico and PMGD), which have been multiplied over the last years and are 12-15 times higher than the budget based on the tender.   At wpd, we have been working for over a year on proposals and initiatives aimed at contributing to the public discussion to generate support for correcting market distortions with the goal of achieving a clean, reliable energy industry at competitive prices. #wpd #Chile #renewables #onshorewind #greenhydrogen

Focus on the Energy Transition: Integrating Renewables into the Electricity Grid The integration of renewable energies into the electricity grid presents a significant challenge, particularly concerning grid expansion and stability. In March 2023, the EU Commission proposed a comprehensive reform of the electricity market aimed at promoting renewable integration, enhancing competition, increasing flexibility, and ensuring consumer protection. Key elements of this reform include long-term contracts such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Contracts for Difference (CfDs), providing investor security and facilitating the financing of renewable energy projects. The reform also encourages a more flexible electricity market through initiatives like flexible demand, aggregated load management, and virtual power plants. A new regulatory authority will oversee the market to ensure fair competition. Rheingas and ENVIRIA partner to advance industrial solar power 🤝   We are glad to announce our partnership with Propan Rheingas GmbH & Co. KG, a leading German supplier of liquid gas, to simplify the transition to solar energy for industrial companies throughout Germany. ☀️   Together, we are implementing two large-scale PV systems covering 9,000 m², with a capacity of over 900 kWp. These systems are expected to generate around 1 million kWh of clean electricity annually, resulting in a reduction of over 400 tons of CO2 each year. Further projects, totaling 5,000 kWp, are already in development. 🚀   This collaboration combines Propan Rheingas GmbH & Co. KG’s extensive experience in energy supply, built over nearly a century, with ENVIRIA’s expertise in solar technology. "The power plant operator and energy supplier Leag has made way for the future with a loud bang. As the company announced, on Friday, they demolished three impressive cooling towers in Boxberg, Upper Lusatia. In their place, systems for storing electricity will be built. An energy storage facility, including a planned 1000-megawatt storage unit, will thus be essential for the gigawatt factory.
