Research shows that learning is easier when we find things engaging. Similarly, we tend to excel when we genuinely enjoy our work. This past January, we ran a career sprint - a 4 week small group career coaching experience (like the Amazing Race but everyone wins :)) - and it worked really well. It was a bit of a risk. Most career coaching is done individually - and it takes courage for people to even imagine sharing their hopes and struggles with people they don’t know. But the benefits of being with others in the same boat proved to be transformative. One participant articulated it well. “Being in a group with people who are at a similar level to me in their career journeys, we were able to relate to each other and to validate feelings on the struggles that come with trying to figure out what comes next”. As a facilitator, I witnessed individuals grow in confidence as they gave and received advice. In my opinion, this is how career development needs to happen - in community. So we are running another Sprint. And we are excited about it! It starts just after Easter. If you want to learn more - or know of someone who could benefit - then here’s the information you need https://lnkd.in/gjDehG2G #careersprint #careerdevelopment #findwork #careercoaching #strengths

It's best to be prepared for an opportunity & not have one, than to have an opportunity & not be prepared. → Just like going to the moon, needs prep! → You need to go through the training, the hard work, and the learning process. → When the right moment comes, it will feel natural because you are ready. be ready for whatever life throws your way! follow the truth & you'll find the meaning ✨ #mondaymotivation #brandingexpert #strongtips #morningcoffee

Be sure to grow yourself ahead for the changing needs of your growing business. A common mistake by new founders, mostly because we are unaware of the dynamic, and default nature to work it out as we go. The most common outcomes for the founder and business are: 😖Frustration 😫Overwhelm ↔️Limited growth 🔂Unrealised potential There is a solid solution for this quandary, but it starts with awareness. Anticipating the dynamic gives you the opportunity to proactively incorporate effective self development into your scaling journey. Know what you’ll need to know and be, ahead of time. Thulani Sibeko CM (SA) makes a valid observation here, very much in line with the Art of Scale I work with as a coach. #buildforthefuture #continuouslearning #gettherewithacoach #youdontknowwhatyoudontknow

What got you here is not going to get you there... I remember struggling to transition into my new role 4 years ago. The hardest was not taking time to figure out what I needed soon enough. Once I realised I needed coaching this boosted not only my self confidence but my leadership ability. And only once you feel confident can you boost your brand amd your team. #selfreflection #personalbranding #coaching

🌟 This week, I had the privilege of attending a thought-provoking career coaching session led by Anna Gorga. Being the first time interacting with her, she came across as an excellent listener, often asking questions that encouraged self-reflection and assessment of my goals. I wanted to share some key takeaways that resonate with maybe all of us: 1️⃣ Set Realistic Goals: It’s important to dream big, but setting achievable goals ensures you stay motivated and focused on your long-term success. 🎯 2️⃣ Embrace a Growth Mindset: Continual learning and adaptability are key. Success isn’t just about talent—it's about being open to growth, learning from challenges, and constantly improving. 💡 3️⃣ Your Thoughts Matter: The way we think about ourselves and our journey directly impacts our outcomes. Positive, empowering thoughts drive action and help overcome obstacles. 💭 After the inspiring session, I had to go back to drafting my goals in a new light and get ready to tackle new challenges with these in mind! Thank you Chelsea Kamau for the opportunity to join in on the session and looking forward to the next. 👉 How do you stay motivated in your career? Drop your thoughts or tips in the comments! Let’s inspire each other to grow and succeed. 🙌 #CareerGrowth #PersonalDevelopment #MindsetMatters #GoalSetting #GrowthMindset #CareerSuccess

🌟 What an amazing privilege! Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend a dynamic workshop led by Gwen Perkins over at ClassLink, centered around the Gallup CliftonStrengths assessment—it was nothing short of inspiring! Discovering my top strengths has opened up new pathways for personal and professional growth that I can capitalize upon and leverage said strengths for professional growth and personal development. Diving into the CliftonStrengths really highlighted unique aspects of my professional personality that I hadn’t fully appreciated before. Gwen’s engaging approach made the workshop not only informative but also incredibly fun! I highly recommend Gwen’s workshop for anyone looking to enhance their self-awareness and boost their career trajectory. If you're eager to uncover your own strengths and supercharge your career, you’ve got to check this out: Gallup CliftonStrengths. “The key to success is to fully understand how to apply your greatest talents and strengths in your everyday life!” - Gallup *Learner * Achiever * Consistency * Developer * Arranger* #ProfessionalDevelopment #CliftonStrengths #CareerGrowth

Starting your career is a lot like dating—you need to explore different roles and companies to discover what you truly enjoy and what doesn’t suit you. Each new position offers fresh insights and learning opportunities. Jordan Peterson wisely notes that even a bad plan is better than no plan at all because it gives you something to learn from and refine. Progress often comes from making incremental improvements and gaining clarity over time. In both my coaching practice and personal experience, a major focus is moving beyond perfectionism and embracing this process of exploration and growth. Sometimes, the best way to find your path is through trying and adjusting along the way. #career #growth

It's Work Wednesday! Today, let's reflect on the importance of leveraging our strengths for success in both life and career. According to CliftonStrengths, focusing on what we naturally do best is key to unlocking our greatest potential. Last week, I shared a post discussing how developing our skills leads to finding work we are passionate about. Our strengths are often indicators of what those skills might be. For example, I learned that my top CliftonStrength is individualization, meaning I am intrigued by the unique qualities of each person. This insight shows me that I can appreciate how distinct people are, but more importantly, it highlights that my strength lies in working with people in some capacity. Understanding this about myself gave me the confidence to choose a career in life and career coaching. Knowing that individualization is my top strength, I continuously seek ways to grow my interpersonal and presentation skills. This is an example of how we can use our strengths not only to achieve success but also to narrow down our career choices. If you're at a stage in your career where you're looking for something different, remember that your strengths are a great indicator of the work and environment where you'll thrive. So, what are your top strengths? If you haven't taken an assessment to discover them, ask your colleagues, family, and friends to share what they see as your strengths. #WorkWednesday #CareerGrowth #StrengthsFinder #CliftonStrengths #PersonalDevelopment #CareerCoaching #MindsetMatters #LifeCoaching #ProfessionalGrowth #SuccessTips

Thulani Sibeko CM (SA) This is so true. Peers would then begin to complain that one has changed (thinks like or is pro-management), not realising the responsibilities and the level of accountability that come with the senior role. I believe that the higher up the corporate ladder an individual climbs, the more they should embrace the shareholder mentality. As my colleagues would colloquially put it; "The view from the top is not the same as the view from the bottom". 😊 #promotion #compassionateleadership #growthmindset

Often than not one still reasons at his/her former level even amongst ones peers, often than not feeling not at the new level yet functioning at that level. The new role does mean you are now "different" and no longer at your former title or responsibility. Change is said to be a forever constant, constant is change therefore one of the things I have learnt especially under our Director's leadership: Amanda Swana , she encourages us to accept the changes that come with growth and business development. Powerpoint Lifestyles has pursued me to grow beyond industry norms and if being honest I think at some stage I have resisted my own potential and abilities. Lately however, I have realised the endless possibilities that come with accepting fully ones new role. Hence acknowledging my validity in the new role I am faced with. Your dreams are valid are said so loosely yet once implored with your dreams we shy away afraid of one's reality of dreams being real. Therefore we attires fail not because of lack of resources but fail due to lack of acceptance of your own growth, key responsibilities and duties. Alas the hat I wore yesterday and thee hat I wear today ... although still a hat but different, with different colour's, shape and size I trust that as it has been identified for me that I wear this majestic new hat. May I wear the new hat suitably for the organisation I am in. LinkedIn community allow me to re-introduce myself... I am Samantha Yolanda Ndawonde - Gray Powerpoint Lifestyles Client Liasion Officer whom leads the Business Development ( Sales and Marketing ) business unit. I am honored 🎖 🙏🏼 and grateful for my new role as a Business lead. I look forward to this new colorful hat 👒
