🌟 Are you aware of the numerous benefits of Community Led Social Innovation (CLSI)? 🤝 CLSI prioritises local community involvement and empowerment, with local actors cooperating to develop and implement new solutions to address specific local needs and challenges identified by the community itself 🏘️ Therefore, it is a collaborative process from community (initiated/led) and for community (benefiting) at all steps of the social innovation process 🌍 ✨ These solutions, although tailored to their specific local context, often have the potential to be scaled up or transferred to other contexts, with necessary adaptations, benefitting more territories, organizations, and citizens by using proven practices, and conserving essential resources like time ⏰ and budget 💰 🚨 If you have a project with these characteristics and want to be part of something much bigger, don't miss our call for Community-Led Social Innovation Projects 👉 https://lnkd.in/e7W8zQCp 📢 Want to learn more about CLSI? The Eyes With Which We See Our Communities As a community-led development facilitator and advocate, I have spent a considerable amount of time with communities and learnt a lot from them. One of the key learnings I got is on how we, the outside world, see these communities. How our eyes see them and how this is interpreted by our minds and how it influences the actions thereafter. Unfortunately, most of what we presume is usually wrong or misguided. Most of us see our rural communities as helpless and we forget that they existed hundred of years before without any external help. And so, the truth is, our communities are well endowed with resources and possibilities. We ain't their saviors. We must start appreciating that they are masters of their own development. We must value and dignify them. We must start seeing them with a different eye. #CommunityLedDevelopment #CLD #HCD #ABCD #LocalCommunities #LocalSolutions #SustainableDevelopment #BetterAfrica Michael Muiya Akampurira Micheal Dr Renuka Thakore Representing Global Communities The Movement for Community-led Development Community-Led Solutions CBO GSFN

We are celebrating Neurodiversity Week and raising awareness of the importance of inclusion. No two people are the same – we all have different profiles. Neurodiversity Week is designed to highlight this and help neurological differences to be both recognised and respected. With one in four people working in construction identifying as neurodiverse, it's vital understanding of neurodiversity is built so the industry is seen as one that supports, and values its existing and future workforce. Thanks to CITB's Industry Impact Fund, Interclass PLC, has been awarded £178,763 to develop and deliver neurodiversity training. Over 400 people working in construction will be trained, with 30% from SME/micro businesses. Here Sara Barnes, Pre-Construction and Marketing Manager at Interclass, explains why they applied for funding and their aims. Later this week there will be more from Sara and how the Industry Impact Fund will help improve the future for neurodiverse people working, or planning to work, in construction. Click through to read the full story 👇 Visit CITB's website to find out more about the Industry Impact Fund https://bit.ly/3KmDkrf Sara Barnes #industryimpactfund #CITB #NeurodiversityWeek #neurodiversity #construction

In Dublin this afternoon for the launch of the Football Cooperative's launch of the Social Return on Investment (#SROI) report. We've had the pleasure of working with Steven O'Connell recently through the LEO Dublin City Green for Business Programme, understanding and articulating their social impact through the lens of the UN #SDGs. SROIs provide a simple and effective way to communicate impacts in both monetary and socio-sustainable terms. These impact KPIs can be incorporated in an organisations #CSR efforts, as part of #CSRD reporting or as part of a #SustainableProcurement tender response. #MentalHealth issues effect nearly 17% of 40-44 year olds in Ireland. Projects like the Football Cooperative and others that combat loneliness, social exclusion, physical health issues and create a supportive approach to community cohesion are the future of #PreventiveHealthcare

Celebrating Debswana Diamond Company’s commitment to Citizen Economic Empowerment Programme through the localization of strategic contracts and leveraging Debswana’s Supply Chain to support various sectors of the economy such as local manufacturing, repairs and maintenance all whilst promoting skills development and empowerment. The business mandate stands at an astonishing BWP20 billion on citizen spend in 2024 and beyond. One golden takeaway is that the ethos of reciprocity should be further community development through mentorship from successful suppliers who will handhold, partner and open networks for other citizen owned start-ups. This is a sure way to graduate the existing beneficiaries and pave way for new CEEP entrants (citizen owned entities). #CEEP #CitizenEconomicEmpower #Sustainability&Development
