This week’s Breakthrough Energy Summit saw leaders in technology, policy, science and business join Bill Gates in collaborating on innovative solutions that will tackle climate change. It’s our mission to be part of this journey, so we were delighted to join Basil Demeroutis at our partner FORE Partnership in hosting delegates to see our TBC.London project in Tower Bridge, a breakthrough sustainable office retrofit that puts embodied and whole life carbon at the heart of the process.   TBC.London has many innovations including paint that eliminates greenhouse gases, plus a tracking system that allows us to measure the embodied carbon of everything that goes into the build. It is also the first UK construction project to reuse steel from a pre-1940s building. This is a template for sustainable repurposing of existing office space so that it’s fit for 21st century demands and leaves a minimal footprint on our environment in the process.  We’re looking forward to sharing the learning with our peers across the built environment.
