The Mayo Clinic underscores the significance of genuine partnerships in tackling health outcome disparities. Specifically, they emphasize the critical role of addressing housing insecurity as a social determinant of health. One notable example is the housing coalition partnership Mayo Clinic established to combat this pressing issue. #Partnerships #SocialDeterminants #MayoClinic Erin Sexton Mayo Clinic #MayoRISEforEquity Mayo Clinic conference.

ICYMI: Findings from a recent report on building power in underserved communities for equitable access to healthcare during health emergencies highlight the success of a community-support model in providing health resources and education to unhoused individuals. A community-support approach ultimately bridges gaps in care and promotes public health efforts. Key takeaways for me were the importance of multi-sectoral partnerships, consistent public health resources, and bidirectional communication for sustainable health programs. I can’t understate the importance that we continue to work towards ensuring all communities have access to vital health information and resources during times of crisis. #HealthEquity #CommunitySupport #PublicHealthEfforts #UnderservedCommunities #Unhoused

Two days ago the House Energy & Commerce Health Subcommittee unanimously passed the bipartisan #NAPAAct, #AlzInvestmentAct and the #BOLDAlzheimersAct. These bipartisan pieces of legislation will renew our nation’s commitment to addressing the growing Alzheimer’s and dementia public health challenge and build on the progress made over the last decade. The next step for this legislation - working with Congress to make them become law. Congressman Chuck Fleischmann, we need your support! Will you step up and co-sponsor these bills, and show your constituents in TN-03 that you care about the #ENDALZ cause? Structural racism runs through the air we breathe and the water we drink. Depending on who and where we are, it can even be toxic and make us sick. And yet, when people turn to healthcare expecting to be healed, the air and water there, too, can be deadly. While many are working to ensure healthcare serves everyone with dignity and fairness, transforming complex systems is hard and can feel overwhelming, especially in the face of active threats to justice--if we’re trying to tackle structural racism alone. Just Leaders for a Just Health System (JUSTICE SQUARED) invites healthcare organizations and patient and community leaders to engage in a trustworthy, humble and courageous journey to confront structural racism in healthcare together. By uniting a community of changemakers grounded in shared leadership and accountability, equipping them with effective tools and supports to address structural racism, and taking practical action together to change policies and practices, JUSTICE SQUARED seeks to shift healthcare into a system where love permeates. #callforproposals

Rehab costs across the US are too inconsistent! From $15 thousand in Ohio to $40 thousand in California for similar treatments. Access to rehab shouldn't depend on where you live. These discrepancies not only impact individuals seeking necessary care but also underscore broader systemic issues within our healthcare system. Everyone deserves the opportunity to receive the care they need without facing financial hardship or inequality. Let's work together to advocate for health equity and reform that ensures every person can access the rehabilitation services necessary for their well-being. Visit advocatesforhealthcare.org to learn more about this critical issue and how you can contribute to positive change. #HealthcareForAll #rehabcosts advocatesforhealthcare.org ahcdpc.com
