Construction will be booming in the US for two cities with the United States hosting two Olympic games in the next decade - LA 2028 & Salt Lake 2034. For an estimation of costs and material requirements, Paris 2024 is our best example of what we can expect here. World sporting events are becoming more common in the USA. F-1 racing and the World Cup were two major sports that captivated the world but we mostly stayed out of. Now major US cities are vying to build new stadiums, new raceways, and host new teams. New York and New Jersey are definitely thinking of the future of sport. And with New Jersey set to host the World Cup final in 2026, expect to see a lot more soccer fever and arena construction in the US. 🚀 *Norwich City: Mastering Dynamic Entries in Set-Pieces* ⚽ ### 📊 *Norwich City’s Dynamic Entry Set-Piece Tactic:* Norwich City employs a brilliant strategy where a player initially positioned outside the box becomes the primary target through rapid movement. Here’s how they execute this tactic effectively .. ### 2. *Dynamic Entry from Outside the Box:* - *Setup:* A designated player stands outside the box at the start of the corner. - *Execution:* This player makes a sudden, rapid run into the box, aiming to lose his marker and become the main target. - *Blocking:* Nearest teammates inside the box perform blocking actions, impeding the movements of nearby defenders to ensure the runner has a clear path. - *Outcome:* The runner often finds himself in a free position to receive the cross and convert it into a goal. #NorwichCity #SetPieceStrategy #FootballTactics #SoccerAnalysis #PremierLeague Once Sport

REFEREERING FOIL FENCING The electrical judging apparatus was originally designed for the Epee to replace the judges and to determine the validity of the hit. Epee is the sport-version of the duel where the fundamental purpose was to hit your opponent before they could hit you but also allowing for the possibility that you both could hit each other at the same time. To hit with the power to penetrate was resolved by including a spring-loaded tip on the weapon that would require a force of 500 grams for Foil and 750 grams for Epee before it would register and to determine if the hits landed exactly at the same time and set to stop any hit from registering if it arrived after a set delay. In epee competition, the Referee is simply ensures that the fencers abide by the rules, as the scoring apparatus determines the validity of the hits, However with Foil, the Referee has the added task of applying the rules of performance, while recognizing the fencing-time of each fencer and the technical time of their performance in relation to these rules. FENCING TIME Simple offensive actions are in one-period of Fencing-Time and must be parried or completely avoided. Compound offensive actions are however composed of more than one period of Fencing Time so they can be stopped in their tracks by means of Counter-Offensive actions. Compound Attacks can attract Stop Hits but to be valid, it must register Before the attacker has started their final movement. TECHNICAL TIME Technical time is not just the physical speed of the action but rather the timing of your actions in relation to the moves and sequences of your opponent. To apply your actions to the fencing phrase you must be co-ordinated to those of your opponent, whether it's the timing of your feints or your point-deception to your opponent parries. With the F.I.E. Rules for Competition readily available at: https://lnkd.in/gjFbyiH7 Why is it that Foil refereeing completely disregards this rule. "The attack is the initial offensive action made by extending the arm and continuously threatening the opponent’s target, preceding the launching of the lunge or flèche." So to clarify: The Attack starts with the Threat of the Point (not the body nor the feet but the tip of the weapon) continuously threatening the opponent's target and precedes the Lunge. Why then are we seeing Referees completely disregard applying this rule? If it were to be enforced it would clearly establish the initial offensive action and therefore distinquish between the Attack and the Preparation to an Attack leading to more tactical opportunities such as Attacking into the Preparation, Creating a Line to Derobe (see Derobement) and of course, keeping Distance, ignoring Preparations and waiting for the Attack, focused on your Riposte. All sports stadiums will require construction works at some point. It could be a new stand, a new pitch, floodlights, refurbishment of existing facilities - or even the construction of an entirely new stadium. All too often, projects have setbacks or go wrong. This leaves clubs facing fines, the cost of expensive remedial work, risk of injury to players, alongside damage to reputation. In this webinar, Carly Thorpe, Alex Jones and Sam Parkinson from our Construction & Engineering team discuss common pitfalls and provide practical advice on how clubs can manage risk and protect their position. #Sport #Construction #StadiumDesign #WalkerMorris #ForgeYourOwnPath
