I’m reminded of how payments technology connects us in meaningful ways. Having an expertise in the payments technology space, this season is one of the busiest of the year. As consumers swipe their debit cards and transfer funds to loved ones with tools like Zelle, my job at Bank of America is to ensure those transactions are seamless, secure, and fast. Here are a few tips to stay safe while shopping this holiday season: * Stick to secure networks: When shopping online, use trusted Wi-Fi connections and avoid public networks. * Monitor your accounts: Keep an eye on your debit card transactions and set up alerts to catch any unusual activity. * Use trusted payment methods: Debit cards and tools like Zelle are excellent for fast, secure transactions—but make sure you’re only using them with reputable merchants and verified recipients. * Think before you click: Be cautious of links in emails or texts claiming unbelievable holiday deals.
