How long does it take to get approved for a home loan? Probably longer than you think. The home loan market is busy! This means banks are taking longer than usual to assess applications. It's not unusual for us to wait on hold for hours to the bank to clarify part of a client's application, so that they don't get knocked back. A few months before it's time to apply, we suggest getting in touch with us for guidance on what the banks are looking for, and how they'll view your unique situation. Getting started early also means we can give you an idea of the turnaround times for each bank. However, ideally, turnaround times won't be a factor in deciding who to go with.
