I am reminded of the saying 'waste is a verb, not a noun.' The environmental and social benefits of this are immeasurable - but they are quantifiable. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle - also requires 'Rethinking' - how can this be used? By whom? Can it be useful in it's current form? Modified? Or recycled into new products. WMAR-TV in Baltimore featured our decommission project for MOI, with a great message: Don’t dump, donate. MOI is remodeling its roughly 13,000 square foot showroom and wanted to be sure all the wonderful furniture stayed out of landfill. Some of it went to employees, some of it was sold, and multiple truck loads of desks, chairs, tables, sofas, cabinets and more were donated to eight different nonprofits and community groups. Keeping furniture in circulation helps the environment and the community, allowing everyone to thrive.
