People have asked me "What is VetACon? How would VetACon help me?" 1.) To put this honestly - VetACon is a Veteran based Peer-to-peer organization that works with any veteran who wants to get involved in the creative arts. We help them progress in their trade, and then try to help them market, promote their products where they feel confident. 2.) We want to work with any type of VSO ( DAV, VFW, Legion) and have a centralized online presence where we can advertise any type of veteran related arts/craft event. This will help the veterans to locate a place in their area to sell or perform. 3.) Each VetACon event will vary depending on the veteran who is running the event. We all have different things to present to the "table". How I got the idea is 1.) I have been to a lot of various arts/crafts events, but what really struck out to me the most is when I had booths at various Comic Cons. It had a central theme - of course comic books. These events were HUGE! So it came to me what IF we have an event similar but different - the "theme" would be that everyone is a veteran, so the booths will vary greatly. The DAV, VFW, Legions, etc.. can all have their members have a booth, and we can have a super large event with a strong patriotic swing. I have a philosophy that I make sure to impliment at my house - work together, play together. Many hands make light work. We can drastically lower the 22 veterans a day if we take the time to become more "personal" with veterans. Ask them how their day was. How can we help them improve? Maybe by taking the time to show them a creative art. Maybe take the time to help them learn to get a booth at an event... This program isn't just what I bring to the table.. It's what every veteran who wants to be involved can bring. So the results of each event will be different.. But we want to make sure we lead by example... That's the biggest thing. Can we still make a difference in other's lives...

The Fail Forward Project is one that is both exciting and scary. Scary because we don't talk about failure enough. Failure is taboo. We do everything we can to avoid experiencing it or talking about it. Even when it is mentioned, it's spun as this one-dimensional event that eventually led to some kind of success, and the success itself takes center stage. And yes, while failure can be, and often is, the catalyst behind many successes, we hardly sit with it long enough to do it justice. This project aims to give us the space to do just that. Come, let's unpack failure in all it's dimensions. Let's discuss the different ways we define it and myriad feelings associated with it: the fear, the disappointment, and the uncertainty. I'm excited about this project because it allows us destigmatize failure and appreciate it as a vital part of the learning process. By listening to the stories of other human beings who botched something (or thought they did), we build resilience for when we inevitably face our own failures. If you can make it, come to the inaugural Fail Forward event, listen to incredible stories, and share yours too. Your story could be just the thing someone else needs to hear to let them know they are going to be OK. I'm looking forward to attending and hope you will too.
Get ready, Des Moines! The Fail Forward Event is just ONE WEEK away! Prepare for an evening filled with raw, unfiltered stories, genuine connections, and valuable insights. Mark your calendars for May 15th at the Decades Event Center and secure your tickets now at https://lnkd.in/gvV-Uf3i to guarantee your spot. Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to join us for the very first #FailForwardEvent in Des Moines. Tickets are selling fast, so act now. We can't wait to see you there!

Why Don’t Corporate Companies Sponsor Christian Events in a Christian Nation? In a country where the majority identify as Christians, you’d expect corporate sponsorship for Christian events to be a given. Yet, many Christian concerts, conferences, and outreaches struggle to secure the backing they need. Why? 1. Perceived Niche Audience: Some companies view Christian events as catering to a specific group, limiting their brand's reach. But in reality, Christian events often draw massive, diverse crowds with powerful buying power. 2. Misconception of Value: Corporate entities may underestimate the impact of faith-based gatherings. Yet, these events promote strong values, build community, and inspire positive change—values every brand claims to stand for. 3. Limited Engagement Strategies: Companies may not see the marketing potential or ROI in sponsoring Christian events. However, by partnering with Christian initiatives, they can align their brand with hope, unity, and purpose, resonating deeply with the nation’s heartbeat. It’s time for businesses to realize that supporting Christian events is more than just charity—it’s an investment in the nation’s soul. Let’s start bridging this gap and show the undeniable value these events bring to our society. #CorporateSponsorship #ChristianNation #BuildingTogether
