Questions to School Board candidates… As a teacher who has been part of several school board screening groups, finding good questions to ask candidates can be a challenge. You want to be specific, but not too specific. You want to have open-ended questions that actually get to issues that are important to educators and will reveal how much candidates know about the real challenges we face. After consulting some colleagues, I would like to share the following questions and encourage you to get these questions to the candidates in your area.

While this video is tutoring focused, it has implications for anyone trying to recruit #collegestudents for jobs, internships, etc. The basic finding is that when recruitment emails to college students are framed in a way that tout a job's prosocial 💕 , career 💼 , or social 👯 benefits, it does little to nothing compared to touting a job's financial benefits. Quick version 👉 : 𝗘𝗺𝗽𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘇𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗷𝗼𝗯 𝗽𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴. That might not be a surprise, but what might be surprising is just how much of a difference emphasizing pay makes: 𝗮 𝗻𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟬% 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. But once the college student is on the job, they stay on the job, meaning that the monetary messaging still brings good candidates your way. https://lnkd.in/eZ6SpuKE
