Remote support is a tool many machine and plant manufactuers invest a lot in at the moment. And it makes sense: The customer has direct access to a team of specialists, problems can be often be solved a lot quicker with direct access to the pros. Plus, the customer saves on traveling costs. Even if, the issue can't be solved remotely the onsite technician will be better prepared and will usually fix the issue faster. Also for the technicians it's normally a good thing: They might have more time at home and being prepared for an interventition can often reduce the stress significantly. Still, if more and more customers change to remote support machine manufacturers will loose turnover in the first place. Some companies are a little hesitant to promote remote support.
