We Have the Power to Do What Is Right - BOSS SJC Youth Collective How do you get involved? First and foremost, make sure you are REGISTERED TO VOTE. One of the best ways to get involved is with initiatives like the BOSS Bay Area's Social Justice Collective voting campaign, IMPACT THE VOTE. Hurt often comes from where love should reside. Children deserve spaces to explore, learn, and grow without fear or harm. We must return to the days when the community raises the child, and predators are denied safe haven to harm them. More targeted and evidence-based interventions are needed to tackle cultural issues that cause people to become vile against children. We must reverse the culture of silence through education. We must mobilize communities to reject elements that harm children. Collective action is required to create safer communities for our children. Children need to be heard, not just seen, and their voices matter. #SafeSpacesForChildren #CommunitySupport #ProtectOurChildren #BreakTheSilence #EmpowermentThroughEducation #CollectiveAction #SaferCommunities #ChildrensVoicesMatter #EndChildHarm #NurtureAndProtect

Yesterday, the Newark Public Safety Collaborative convened its 27th Community Stakeholders meeting with over 47 attendees representing 40 community stakeholders, including CBOs, law enforcement, local and state leaders, and businesses, among others. Our discussion evolved around the importance of engaging youth in ongoing public safety efforts. As a community member mentioned, any programming efforts seeking to engage youth must incorporate youth voices. Most importantly, youth need to be engaged in community co-production efforts to encourage the participation of the non-service-seeking youth. The NPSC shared public safety year-to-date trends as well as data and analyses to facilitate this discussion and be intentional about where and when programming efforts can be more effective at engaging youth and adults. #coproducingsafety #communityengagement
