Raido Capital Partners investor dinners bring together LPs, GPs and founders to discuss opportunities in financial technology and tech-enabled financial services. Founding partners Maxime Seguineau and Vincent Toesca had a great time co-hosting our San Francisco chapter this week with our friend John Scally III at UBS Private Wealth. Many previously venture-backed businesses have a great foundation for success but are no longer suited for hyper-growth capital once initial growth has moderated. For many it will be challenging if not impossible to earn their way into their last valuation. In order to adapt and deliver value, most of these companies need a reset and a re-calibration of their operations. They often have unsustainable capital structures which are mis-aligned for a moderate growth path where cash flow generation should be the focus. Over drinks and good food, we discussed how we approach value creation in the context of this re-calibration.

CNBC's Inside Wealth has partnered with FINTRX to create the first ever list of Top 10 Family Office Dealmakers -- a ranking of family offices that made the largest number of investments in start-ups in 2024. The data has plenty of caveats, but the list of active dealmakers offers a rare window into the fiercely private world of family offices and where they're putting their money. This year, family offices are all about AI, energy and biotech. Many of the top dealmakers are names most Americans have never heard of (Arthur Hayes, Guillaume Houze) and some are well-known billionaires including Bernard Arnault, Laurene Powell Jobs and Peter Thiel. Check out S2E33 of the FOXcast CEO Series, Accessing Top-Quality Deal Flow in the Private Investing Marketplace! FOX CEO Peter Moustakerski sat down with Lou Sokolovskiy, CEO and Founder of Opus Connect. Lou founded Opus Connect to provide a platform for PE and M&A professionals to connect, collaborate, and succeed in their work. He talks about the opportunity – or gap – he saw in the private investing marketplace and why he created this community. UHNW families and their family offices are increasingly active and sought-after participants in the private direct investing space – they are seen as patient, long-term, values-driven investors. At the same time, they often lack capabilities or create obstacles for themselves that prevent them from partaking in the most attractive deals. Lou explains why that happens and what families and family office executives can do to overcome these weaknesses and ensure they are seeing the best deals. Enjoy this informative conversation with one of the leading players and community organizers in the private investing ecosystem. https://lnkd.in/gyvPnMQ2 #directinvesting #investing #familyoffice #familyoffices #uhnw

Private equity firms are very concentrated in their geographic focus. Logan Lowery of LP First Capital reveals that while it may vary by industry, generally speaking, they are looking to buy or partner with businesses in business-friendly states where people are moving to. They do not take a “shotgun approach” as they add companies to their portfolio.
