Revolutionizing Reentry: The Elm City Reentry Pilot Today, 4-CT launched the third cohort of the Elm City Reentry Pilot, welcoming twenty more individuals into a program that redefines what reentry support can and should be. For the next 12 months, each participant will receive $500/month, providing the stability, autonomy, and dignity to reclaim their lives after incarceration. This isn’t just financial aid—it’s an act of radical trust. It’s a challenge to the broken systems that punish instead of restore. And it’s a declaration that we believe in the power of people to rebuild their own lives when given the resources to do so. As someone who once walked this path, I know the profound impact of this program. Today, as the Community Engagement and Advocacy Fellow, I am humbled to support its expansion and to stand alongside individuals who refuse to let their past define their future. I’m deeply grateful to Raquel Ferguson for her tireless dedication and to our twenty new participants, who are not just beneficiaries—they are the revolutionaries leading the way. The Elm City Reentry Pilot proves that change is possible when we invest directly in people and their potential. Together, we’re not just helping individuals; we’re dismantling inequities and rebuilding communities from the ground up. 4-CT just launched our THIRD cohort of the Elm City Reentry Pilot with another twenty people beginning their journey of receiving $500/month for the next twelve months. As I met with each individual to run through the very simple ins and outs of the program, I watched relief, resolve, and some well controlled emotion (a few said they already cried or were about to when they got outside). I'm very lucky to do this work, grateful for Raquel Ferguson's unwavering commitment to her clients, and deeply appreciative of my twenty new teachers.

🏆Why We Should Celebrate Coming Second⚽ Last night, England lost the men's Euros final, and the talk everywhere is about the "despair" of yet another missed opportunity and fans “fuming”. There are calls for Gareth Southgate to resign and Harry Kane to retire. But amidst all this negativity, a young schoolboy's voice stood out, saying, "We came 2nd out of all those countries." And he's absolutely right! 🏅 When did we stop celebrating our successes? If our children came second in their class, we'd be proud of their achievement, not criticising them for not coming first. This mindset should translate into the workplace as well. Imagine an environment where even high performers are met with criticism rather than recognition for their achievements. How would that impact morale and motivation? Yes, real underperformance should be addressed, but always with constructive feedback and support before it escalates. But let’s celebrate successes, even if we’re not the best, both on the pitch and in our offices. Recognising achievements and providing balanced feedback is crucial for fostering a positive and productive atmosphere.
