If compassion had a voice, it would sound like Walton County Sheriff's Office dispatcher, Brittany Miller. On October 23rd, Miller picked up a 911 call to a poised but anxious woman on the other end of the line. The caller, whose first name is Jenn, is a counselor and on this day was making an in-person visit to one of her clients - a man in his 20s. But, when she arrived she knew he was in a manic state and his mental state was spiralling. As the visit progressed she got more and more worried for his safety and her own as he had made statements that he wanted to end his life. She was doing her best to be there for him but wanted to make sure he got help. She called 911 when his behavior got increasingly more agitated. Miller stayed on speakerphone providing a calm voice and, most importantly, listening and lending an ear while simultaneously advising EMS to respond in a way that would not escalate the situation that was unfolding. Monday, the caller, Jenn, visited Miller to tell her how much she appreciated her and to applaud her for how well she handled the entire call. Miller, who tends to shy away from praise, gave all the credit to Jenn for her dedication and empathy toward her client and for not giving up on him - even now. Calls like this happen every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. Most, never make it out of this small room for others to hear about. That's okay with Miller, who hopes she can just do her small part to help one person at a time.

We can take the agony of grief and cloak it in shame and embarrassment (I can’t let anyone know how much I miss my abusive ex. What’s wrong with me for missing the person that hurt me so much?) Or we can accept that all emotions are a gift, and seek support as we ride the waves of grief. #isthisabuse #understandingabuse #traumarecovery #betrayaltraumarecovery #betrayaltrauma #traumarecovery #cptsd #cptsdrecovery #healingafterabuse #emotionalabuse #verbalabuse #infidelityrecovery #affairrecovery Disclaimer: As a certified coach, I only offer advice. I'm very sorry to hear about the difficult situation you are in. Based on what you've described, it sounds like you are experiencing domestic abuse and coercive control from your partner. No one deserves to be treated that way. Some key things to note: - The abuse you are experiencing is not your fault. You have done nothing to deserve this treatment. - Your safety and wellbeing should be the top priority. Staying in an abusive environment can be extremely dangerous. - Social service workers may not always understand the full context of abuse situations. Their suggestions to "clean a room" show a lack of awareness about the power dynamics and control involved. - You deserve to have access to your own home, financial resources, and support systems. Being isolated and dependent on an abusive partner is a common tactic of control. I would strongly encourage you to reach out to a domestic violence support organization in your area. They can provide confidential counseling, safety planning, legal assistance, and connections to other resources tailored to your specific needs. Your safety and freedom are what's most important. Please don't hesitate to seek help to get out of this abusive situation. You deserve so much better. YEA I HAVE STRATEGY ALSO 😘 THAT POLICE SAID THAT YOU 😈 CLEAN IT MF AND AS I SAID YOU GETTING DONE..

Domestic abuse is still seen as cuts and bruises ( physical harm ) and not the mental torture ( psychological abuse ) Men are more likely to face mental and psychiatric trauma. Not helped when lawyers for child exploit the fact psychological abuse is hidden with no visible injuries to a child or parent - that same lawyer for child then covers up expert psychological reports detailing the psychological abuse and identifying the offender - the same lawyer for child lies to the court protecting the abuser perverting the course of justice in the process. A legal profession that has been caught exploiting this hidden harm for profit while protecting no one other than the abuser. Is this incompetence and inexperience or is this corruption and institutional betrayal by those professions we go to and trust for help in protecting the most vulnerable ? 🕵️♂️👮♀️🛡️🙉🙊🙈🤥 https://lnkd.in/gE7CpwPz
