The Internet is massive - and what we see and access on a daily basis is only the tip of the iceberg. The dark web, a hidden and encrypted network, is home to illegal activities such as selling stolen data. Recently, telecommunications giant AT&T fell victim to a major data breach where over 73 million customer records were compromised to the dark web. This serves as a stark reminder that no one is immune to cyberattacks, and businesses need to take proactive steps to protect themselves and their customers. So, what can businesses do to safeguard against the dangers of the dark web? Here are a few tips: 1. Invest in reliable antivirus software and keep it updated to prevent malware attacks. 2. Regularly change passwords and make them strong and unique for each account. 3. Use caution when using public Wi-Fi, as it is often a prime target for hackers looking to steal sensitive information. 4. Stay vigilant against phishing scams, where cybercriminals try to trick people into giving away personal information. 5. Why use a darknet monitoring tool❓ Users' personal data and information often end up on the darknet. Hackers buy users’ credentials there and use it for further cyber-attacks such as phishing or password hacks. Some programs, such as virus scanners, password managers, or special providers offer darknet monitoring to check if your own data has ended up on the darknet. However, users who have an e-mail address associated with a Google account can also create a free monitoring profile for that e-mail address to search the darknet for personal information. This way, you can find out if your name, address, phone number, or passwords have been published in a data leak. 👉 If you regularly check if your information is being traded on the Darknet, you can react more quickly and take appropriate protective measures. For example, changing the password of the affected account or activating multi-factor authentication. PS: If you want to check if one of your passwords has already been exposed, use the Engity demo to see how strong your chosen password is. #Darknet #Cyberattack #Phishing #Password #GoogleKonto #Hacking

🔒 Is Your LinkedIn Account Secure? 🔒 In today's digital age, protecting your online presence is more crucial than ever. If you haven't set up Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for your LinkedIn account, now is the time to do so! 🕒 2FA adds an extra layer of security by requiring not just your password, but also a second form of verification. This could be a code sent to your phone, an app-generated token, or even a biometric scan. It’s the bare minimum you can do to safeguard your professional network and personal information. Taking this simple step can significantly reduce the risk of your account being compromised. Stay ahead of potential threats and keep your data secure. 🌐🔐 #CyberSecurity #TwoFactorAuthentication #LinkedInTips #DigitalSafety #StaySecure #ProfessionalNetwork #DataProtection

Using two-factor authentication (2FA) is one of the best ways to reduce your risk of having your online accounts compromised. It adds an extra layer of security beyond just your password. Here’s how it works and why it’s effective: Two-factor authentication requires you to provide two types of information before you can access your account: 🔐 Something you know—like your password. 🔐 Something you have—like a code sent to your phone or generated by an authenticator app. This means that even if someone manages to steal your password, they still can’t get into your account without the second piece of information. With just a password, your account is vulnerable to things like phishing attacks or data breaches. However, when 2FA is enabled, attackers face an extra hurdle—accessing the second factor, which is usually something only you can access. This drastically reduces the chances of unauthorized access. t’s a small step that makes a big difference in keeping your digital life safe. #CyberSecurity #TwoFactorAuthentication #OnlineSafety #AccountProtection #DigitalSecurity

It's a scary thought, but yes, hackers can potentially access your bank account if they infiltrate your PC. Here's how it might happen: Malware: Sneaky programs like viruses or keyloggers can steal your login credentials when you access your bank online. Phishing Attacks: Deceptive emails or websites that mimic your bank can trick you into revealing your login details. Remote Access: In rare cases, a hacker might gain full control of your PC, allowing them to access any information you have open. Don't panic! Here's how to fight back: Strong Passwords & 2FA: Use unique, complex passwords for your bank account and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) for added security. Beware of Phishing: Don't click on suspicious links or attachments, especially in emails claiming to be from your bank. Antivirus & Updates: Keep a reputable antivirus program running and ensure your operating system and software are updated to patch vulnerabilities. Be Cautious Online: Only visit trusted websites when accessing your bank account. #Cybersecurity #BankSafety #ProtectYourMoney
