That experience inspired me to ask a bigger question: how can we make it easier for everyone to contribute to this vital work? The answer is Shop For A Cure—an initiative that leverages technology to fund cancer research seamlessly. In my time at Snowdome, my passion for bringing this initiative to life has only grown stronger. All these sales and promotions around Pink October are driving me crazy! 🫠 Can someone explain how offering discounts on makeup or clothing really helps cancer victims? While I understand these deals might help some patients enjoy discounts and alleviate their financial burden, they’re not the only ones benefiting from these promotions and I doubt much of the money actually goes toward specialised organisations. What cancer victims really need, both during this month and throughout their journey, is genuine support and increased awareness through educational content, not just brands changing their logo colors or offering irrelevant promos. I think brands, in whichever sector they are, should stop hopping on every trending subject just to boost visibility and engagement. While their initiatives might seem supportive on the surface, on a deeper level, they come off as opportunistic. What I think they should they do instead: 👉 Reassess their brand values and align their campaigns with causes that truly resonate with their mission. 👉 Create meaningful engagement by contributing in ways that offer real value, such as supporting relevant organisations, raising awareness through content, or starting conversations that educate and inspire. 👉 Show authenticity by focusing on long-term initiatives that create lasting impact, not just short-term visibility boosts. #AunthenticityOverAttention Image credit: Internet
