🎖 Honoring Veterans and Celebrating Legacy As we reflect on service and sacrifice, I want to share a few things that being a Veteran taught me—lessons that extend well beyond the military. During my time in uniform, I learned about discipline, resilience, and teamwork in ways that shape how I approach every challenge. Military life didn’t just prepare me to serve my country—it taught me how to approach every aspect of my life with purpose and integrity. From strategic planning to mentoring others, these lessons continue to guide my journey. Today, I apply those same principles in helping teams and individuals craft their own visions and build paths to their goals. Veterans have unique perspectives that bring resilience and resolve to any environment, and I’m proud to carry that legacy forward in my work. Veterans Day is a reminder that service doesn’t end when we leave the military. It’s about applying what we’ve learned and continuing to make an impact—whether on a team, in a community, or in personal growth. To my fellow Veterans—how has your service shaped your journey? Let’s share and celebrate the ways we’re all still making a difference.

November 8 is Indigenous Veterans Day, and it is an opportunity to deepen our commitment to reconciliation in a meaningful way. A question I often receive from clients and students is, ‘What are some of the things I can do to be active in supporting or demonstrating reconciliation and decolonization?’ One way to do this is by acknowledging and raising awareness around days of significance for Indigenous Peoples. Tomorrow, we have a chance to honour the Indigenous veterans who served and sacrificed, often unacknowledged, for a country that has yet to fully address its responsibilities toward Indigenous Peoples. As a champion for reconciliation, you can bring awareness to Indigenous Veterans Day in simple yet impactful ways. If you’re leading a meeting, consider incorporating a land acknowledgment that honours Indigenous veterans, or take a few moments to share their stories and contributions. Small acts like these carry forward the recognition Indigenous veterans rightly deserve and connect our daily work to the broader journey of reconciliation. Let’s be mindful and intentional with our words and actions tomorrow, sparking awareness and creating space for others to learn and engage in meaningful reflection. Together, we can make steps toward reconciliation, one respectful acknowledgment at a time.

We need to recruit corporations and job creators like Joby Aviation to our states. They are the future and have no other agenda but the future. Recruiting forward-thinking companies like Joby Aviation, which is working on innovations in electric air taxis, could indeed position states as leaders in future-focused industries. These companies bring high-quality jobs, stimulate economic growth, and often drive advancements in technology, infrastructure, and sustainability. By attracting businesses that prioritize innovation and future-oriented solutions, states can create hubs for cutting-edge industries, from green technology to advanced manufacturing. Supporting these companies can also inspire local educational institutions to build relevant programs, aligning workforce skills with industry needs. Plus, companies like Joby Aviation focus on green transportation, which aligns with broader sustainability goals and may attract talent interested in working on transformative, meaningful projects. To succeed in recruiting these job creators, states might consider offering incentives like tax breaks, grants for research and development, infrastructure improvements, and partnerships with local universities. By positioning themselves as supportive environments for innovation, states can drive economic growth in a way that aligns with a future-focused agenda that benefits both the business and the local community.
On Veterans Day, we express our gratitude every person who has served for their commitment and dedication to our nation — and in particular the many veterans who are part of the Joby team. Thank you for your service, and Happy Veterans Day!

🪖 Honoring All Who Served: Veterans Day Tribute 🎖️ On this Veterans Day, we pause to honor all who have served our nation. Veterans Day, observed on November 11, is a day not only to remember those who sacrificed their lives but also to recognize the millions of veterans who dedicated themselves to defending our freedom, often at great personal cost. It is essential to acknowledge the courage, loyalty, and commitment to the greater good that defines each veteran’s journey. Veterans are defined by their sacrifice—their willingness to put the safety and freedom of others above their own, often enduring physical and emotional hardships that are difficult to fathom. Their loyalty to our nation and commitment to serve despite the sacrifices required are qualities we cannot honor enough. Their service, whether on the front lines or in supportive roles, represents a steadfast dedication to a cause greater than themselves. ### The 101st Airborne Division's Heroic Jump on D-Day On June 6, 1944, the 101st Airborne Division, known as the "Screaming Eagles," played a pivotal role in the Allied invasion of Normandy, France, during World War II. This daring airborne operation, part of the larger D-Day invasion, aimed to disrupt German defenses and secure key positions ahead of the main amphibious assault on the beaches. The 101st Airborne, along with the 82nd Airborne Division, was tasked with parachuting behind enemy lines during the night and early morning hours to capture and hold critical roadways, bridges, and causeways, ensuring the success of the seaborne landings that would follow at dawn. The jump itself was fraught with chaos and peril. Due to poor weather conditions, intense anti-aircraft fire, and navigational errors, the paratroopers were scattered over a wide area, far from their intended drop zones. Many soldiers landed in swamps, fields, and enemy-held territories, often miles from their objectives. Despite these disorienting and hazardous conditions, the highly trained and determined members of the 101st Airborne quickly regrouped into small units or even operated independently. Their ability to adapt under pressure and their unwavering mission focus allowed them to initiate a series of effective, albeit impromptu, assaults on German positions. One of the most significant achievements of the 101st Airborne on D-Day was the capture and securing of the town of Sainte-Mère-Église, one of the first towns liberated in Normandy. This victory provided a crucial stronghold for the Allies and disrupted German counterattack plans. Additionally, the paratroopers played a vital role in securing key causeways and bridges over the Douve River, essential for the movement of Allied forces inland. The success of these operations severely hampered German ability to mobilize reinforcements and launch effective counterattacks against the advancing Allied troops. The bravery and resourcefulness of the 101st Airborne Division during the D-Day operations were instrumental in the overall success of the Normandy invasion. Their actions not only demonstrated the effectiveness of airborne forces in modern warfare but also cemented the division's legendary status. The courageous efforts of the "Screaming Eagles" on that fateful day exemplify the indomitable spirit and determination that were crucial in overcoming the formidable defenses of Nazi-occupied Europe, marking the beginning of the end for the Axis powers in World War II.
