According to Kris Rossignoli, CPA, CA (Canada), CPA (U.S., IL), CFP® (Canada), CFP® (U.S.), TEP, the number one priority is knowing your CRA deadlines. He also highly recommends working with a professional to avoid mistakes and potential tax audits in the future. “I get it. "66% of ACCA members said that poor HMRC services were having a negative impact on their clients, with small businesses bearing the brunt of this issue." 😠 We deserve better from HMRC. Whether that 'we' is accountants, business owners or the general public. The results of the ACCA post-budget survey are out, and it's not good reading. We need better performance. Not ludicrous ideas like closing helplines. Is it too simplistic to think that properly resourcing the tax department may actually help with collecting 𝘮𝘰𝘳𝘦 taxes? #acca #hmrc #smallbusiness https://lnkd.in/eiHAvKjr

I often talk about this subject, anyone can set themselves up as an accountant and give tax advice and it often shocks people and it should. This article is about trying to regulate and standardise the profession. You don't want anyone fixing your boiler or handling your pension pot so don't let just anyone advise and guide you in your business finances. We always make it clear that we do not give personalised advise to non clients and that is because we are regulated by a professional body, The Institute of Financial Accountants. If we don't know you and understand your business why would you want us to? Being able to guide you through what could be complicated legislation takes time and it relies on specialist knowledge and experience. Make sure you work with the right Accountancy practice, check their regulatory body, check they are qualified and make sure they understand your profession. We are proud of our expertise and knowledge and would never take on a client that we didn't feel confident about working with. Reach out if you want to work with an established and properly regulated Accountancy Practice. We're are professional and of course, very nice!
