AI - Today and tomorrow…
🌟 Exploring AI in Design: A New Era? 🌟 Recently, inspired by Piers Linney’s insights on AI’s future in our industry, I had the exciting opportunity to demonstrate the practical applications of AI technology with my ActionCOACH UK peers, the wonderful Maryse Renier and the ‘AI-active’ Bart Kolosowski. During a creative session, we developed a concept for a japandi-style kitchen featuring natural clay walls and warm lighting. The image below showcases one of the outcomes. While it is visually striking, I invite my network to help spot some areas for improvement - it’s far from perfect! This example emphasises the use of AI in early-stage client interactions, allowing us to visualise and refine the ‘dream’ of a future home together. Remember, this isn’t the final design but a stepping stone in the creative process. My Thoughts on AI in Design: - It’s here, and it’s impactful. - It offers incredible opportunities, though it comes with limitations. - The future is bright, and I’m excited about where it can take us. - While some fear or misunderstand its implications, I see it as a tool to better understand and meet client needs, freeing up time for deeper engagement rather than routine tasks. To my peers in architecture and design: 1. AI might replace some tasks, but imagine the potential to enhance our work and reduce burnout by allowing us more time to focus on what truly matters - our clients. 2. Embrace technology to stay ahead rather than exhausting ourselves trying to keep pace. Let’s discuss how we can integrate AI creatively and effectively into our work to enhance our designs and client relationships. What are your thoughts on AI in our field?
