In less than five minutes, Zuben Mathews convinced Hamel Kothari that there is a problem in America when it comes to people being able to pay their bills on time without overdrafting their account. The dilemma: Most Americans get paid twice a month, but oftentimes, their bills are due in between paychecks. When this happens millions of Americans have two options either: 1) overdraft their account and pay an overdraft fee or 2) wait to pay their bill until they get paid and pay a late fee. In the latest episode of the Cambrian Fintech episode with Rex Salisbury, Hamel Kothari, co-founder of Brigit, shares his journey to co-founding Brigit, the company’s mission and how they’ve become a go-to resource for helping people achieve financial wellness. Is it possible for two leaders to effectively share the helm of a company? 🤔 In our latest TechCrunch Equity podcast episode, Mary Ann and yours sincerely dive into this topic, exploring cases where co-CEOs have made it work and the dynamics that drive their success.
In this week’s episode of Equity, Haje Kamps and I delve into the recent decision by fintech company Brex to abandon its co-CEO model. https://lnkd.in/gfZ7UmkE

In today's world, making intros is a love language and act of kindness! 🔥 I was inspired by an amazing self proclaimed super connector lady last year... She was like... have you met XXX? you must meet! We connected and I made a new friend! Yaaay A few weeks later, I got like 5 intro emails from him, where he connected me with others (without me asking)! And I was genuinely impressed Many months fast forward, This week I spoke with an amazing lady, that another lady introduced me to saying the same words... "you guys should meet, you have soo much in common" And at the end of the chat it was just lovely! We met for no reason No sales, no podcast, no mentoring, no nothing... Just meeting for the sake of getting to know someone new And that's when I thought... How cool is it that the world has changed... When I was growing up / early in my career it felt like the cultural norm was: "Your network is your net-worth... hence you must keep them close to your chest" While today we say... we are here to collaborate The more the merrier. Let's connect 💪 So my intention is to build the habit of thinking "Who would be beneficial to connect you with" when meeting someone :) (Of course we don't want to be spammy either, so it's a very fine line) It's exciting and looking forward to it! So yea, if there's any way I can help DM me to let me know, For now, making a first playful intro! Meet "Sir" he accompanied us during breakfast. He loves people watching, flying around freely, and is a foodie too 😂 If you want to meet him, come to KL's bird park cafe for the full experience! Have a great weekend! No investor confidence? Customers will be an even harder sell. The best founders are passionate, and they have an inherent quality to incite inspiration and confidence with their pitch. In episode 068 of CLIMB, Kate McAndrew, Co-Founder and General Partner at Baukunst, explains that if she can’t be inspired by a founder’s pitch, he has failed the test. Every entrepreneur succeeded when they were inspired to solve a problem they personally experienced. Be it Jan Koum of WhatsApp who wanted a low-cost messaging solution. Or, the Stripe brothers who felt that accepting payments online was stupidly complicated. Host Jay Kapoor breaks down 3 primary WHYs he is looking for the answer to in a pitch: 1. why you? 2. why this?? 3. why now??? Watch the Full Episode: https://cutt.ly/6eer2zL6
