This is an insightful take on the common advice that you need a cofounder. While having a trusted and complementary cofounder can be beneficial, the risk of a bad cofounder is a significant factor that can lead to startup failure, often due to disagreements. Many successful companies have been built by solo founders, and with the advancements in tools and resources, the potential for solo founders to succeed is only growing. It’s important to choose what’s best for your unique situation rather than following advice from someone who barely knows your context #StartupAdvice #Cofounders #Entrepreneurship #SoloFounders #VCAdvice #StartupSuccess #FounderDisagreement #BusinessInsight #StartupTools #FounderJourney #StartupGrowth #EntrepreneurshipInsights
"You need a cofounder" Might be the most common advice from VCs And they are wrong Of course, if you have someone you trust and that person compliments you, then having a cofounder can be a great idea But having a bad cofounder is worse than having no cofounder. After all, the number 1 cause of startups failing is cofounder disagreement Plenty of amazing companies have been built with solofounders (see below) Would guess that the share of successes only increases the next decade with the incredible tooling now available Do what is best for you. Not what someone who met you for 20 minutes tells you to do CC: Ilya Strebulaev on the great data

One of the things we often share with founders of nature-positive businesses is this: you need more than a generic playbook for growth. The needs of a nature-based project, for example, can look markedly different from a nature tech business. There are many critical decisions that nature-businesses must make, and many areas of opportunity can pose double-edged swords for young startups. The good news is that there is a growing number of programmes looking to support companies in this space with tailored support and guidance on a broad range of topics, from navigating complex policy landscape to choosing the right financing mechanisms. 💡Learn more about these programmes, and the specific challenges and opportunities that they can help you face head-on at ➡️ https://lnkd.in/eaaPtpbZ ✏️ This article was co-authored by Konstantina Koulouri of NatureFinance, Yuni Yunseong C. of terratai, as well as Silverstrand team members by Rachel Ashton Lim and Patti Chu

One piece of advice I always share with founders: Don’t be afraid to ask for help 👏 Since starting Kanpla, I’ve been blown away by how generous people are with their time, feedback, and insights. Surrounding yourself with those who’ve been there before is invaluable - it has helped us gain critical insights and avoid countless mistakes along the way💡 When we began our UK expansion 18 months ago, the support we received from industry experts and other founders was game-changing. Their guidance played a significant role in our growth 🚀 That’s why I (almost) always say yes to paying it forward! I believe in helping other founders navigate the challenges of scaling—just as others did for us So when Canute by Thursday invited me to join a panel to advise 10 Nordic startups on their UK expansion, it was an easy YES. 😃 To anyone building their dream: don’t underestimate the power of asking for help. You might be surprised at how willing others are to lend a hand. 🙌
