At Power Fix Solutions, we’ve always been inspired by the strength, resilience, and humanity of the first responders we serve. Behind the uniforms and long shifts are individuals who dedicate their lives to protecting and helping others—often putting their own dreams on hold. This story is close to our hearts: A first responder we worked with for years once shared how she delayed starting her family. She loved her job but knew the physical demands, stress, and risks of her profession would make it hard to balance with motherhood. She waited, sacrificing personal goals to prioritize her role in keeping others safe. Years later, we were overjoyed to hear that her dream is finally coming true—she’s about to become a mom! Hearing her happiness reminded us of the quiet sacrifices so many first responders make every day, often without recognition. These are the stories that fuel our passion for creating solutions that make life just a little easier for those who give so much to others. Whether it’s healthier snack options, convenient micro markets, or simply showing up for our communities, it’s all about giving back. To all the first responders out there: We see you, we’re inspired by you, and we’re grateful for all you do. 💬 What inspires you most about the heroes in your community? Share your thoughts in the comments—we’d love to hear them. #FirstResponderLife #CommunityImpact #PowerFixSolutions #WorkplaceWellness #Gratitude

🤝 We need to care more about (unpaid) care work. There are an estimated 5.5 million plus unpaid carers in UK alone, though Carers UK estimates at least 10 million people are actually doing the work of care for others. Some 4.7% of people in England and Wales are providing care for more than 20 hours every week, with over 40% in the 46-65 age group (when resonably they might be rightly exhausted after a lifetime of hard paid work). 59% of unpaid carers are women. One in seven people in the UK are balancing work and caring. This has a huge, huge impact on people, financially, physically and mentally: - 44% of working-age adults caring for 35 hours or more a week are in poverty. - Between 2010 and 2020, more than 1.9 million people in paid employment became unpaid carers every year. - 60% of carers report a long-term health condition or disability compared to 50% non-carers. Add to this the economic benefits unpaid care accrues to our societies and it is devastating to see it not just so under-valued, but also under-accommodated and at times actively discriminated against. All organizations should actively work to support carers, doing everything they can to accommodate their needs. This means introducing benefits like a Carer's Leave, but also institutionalising flexibility, trust and focusing on outputs, not time spent hanging around at the office looking 'busy' as an everyday norm (not everyone wants to declare themselves as a carer, not all caring follows tightly-defined timelines). As always, the benefits of such work cultures would accrue to everyone, which is why organizations and workplaces should stop being designed as if everyone is able-bodied, neurotypical, and without any other commitments or priorities. My mother spent years caring for my grandfather as he refused other care, sacrificing hours every day running around between his meals and doctors and admin needs and his other demands. It was done out of so much love, but it also brought stress and sadness and loneliness and exhaustion that lingered for years after, amid her own health difficulties. Importantly, her story is in no way unique. And it also doesn't matter that this is a political ad. If we want more humane organizations and societies, we need to care more about carers. That means not just telling their human stories, but creating structures in which they too can be supported, recognised and valued. What’s something greater than yourself that makes you feel truly alive? Find something greater than you to feel. To feel alive, to feel heard, to feel seen, to let your soul celebrate. Last night, I had the privilege of attending a board meeting for Relay for Life in the South Puget Sound region, surrounded by people united by purpose and resilience. Seeing the passion this community has for making an impact, left me truly inspired. It reminded me that when we give back, we transcend our daily struggles and connect with something profoundly human. Being part of #RelayforLife 💜isn’t just about supporting a cause; it’s about creating a legacy of hope, unity, and compassion. Each step we take, each story shared, and each hand we hold brings us closer to a world where no one has to face their battles alone. If you’ve ever wanted to feel part of something meaningful, I encourage you to join us. Let’s create a ripple of resilience and kindness that touches lives beyond our own. If you’ve found purpose in something bigger than yourself, I’d love to hear about it—what cause or community has changed your life? #GivingBack #CommunityStrength #RelayForLife #EventIndustry #PurposeDriven #MakeADifference #BigHearts

Failure is not something to be feared, but regret is. The true danger lies not in making mistakes or falling short, but in the lingering "what ifs" that haunt us when we give up too soon. Every time we face a challenge, we have a choice: to push forward, knowing we might fail, or to give up and risk the lifelong burden of regret. Failure teaches us, strengthens us, and ultimately leads to growth, while regret stems from the opportunities we let slip away. It’s not the failure itself that hurts the most, but the knowledge that we didn’t give our all. So, embrace failure as a part of the journey, but be deeply cautious of the regret that comes from giving up on that journey too soon. The only true failure is giving up. #Motivation #Leadership #GrowthMindset #CareerAdvice

Wow -- absolutely amazing speech and life story. Deshauna Barber-Echols!! 👏🌟 "You will have a 100 doors slammed in your face. The reality of life is that we will all hear more nos than we hear yeses." 💔 The entire video is worth watching. Deshauna is so inspirational. "Do not fear failure... But please, be terrified of regret." Many times along the journey to build our movement at CareYaya, we've had countless doors slammed in our face. But, thoughts like this keep us going. 💪 We WILL revolutionize caregiving in America. Whatever it takes. The lives of millions are at stake. Let's go! ❤️ 🚀

Have you ever wondered why motorcycle and bicycle riders greet each other? This seemingly simple gesture carries a deeper meaning that can inspire us all. The true significance behind the greeting: 1. Solidarity: - A bond between people sharing a passion - Connection across social and cultural boundaries - Recognition of the shared experience on two wheels 2. Safety Net: - An unspoken promise of mutual support - Willingness to be there for each other when help is needed - Creating a sense of security on the road What we can learn from this: This greeting culture shows us how powerful simple gestures can be. Imagine if we adopted this attitude in our daily and professional lives: - How would our work environment change if we approached each other with the same solidarity and willingness to help? - What impact would it have on our communities if we extended this unspoken promise of support to our neighborhoods? Let's learn from the two-wheeler community and integrate these values into our daily lives. A simple greeting can be the first step towards a stronger, more supportive community. What do you think? How can we implement this culture of solidarity and mutual support in our daily lives? #Solidarity #MutualSupport #Community #BetterTogether

"Small acts, when multiplied by millions of people, can transform the world." – Howard Zinn "Do you stop to think about often unnoticed things others do for you or you for them that bring positivity to life?" "Making a difference is a big one for me, it could range from helping a co-worker a new and better way to do something or picking up a piece of trash you happen to walk by. You can make a difference in any situation, could help a friend move or lend them an ear when they need to vent. Volunteering your time to help a stranger or returning a second shopping cart to the stall since its right next to your car. Big or small every good deed you put out into the world could just so happen to make some other persons day better. It not only makes the community a better place but makes you a better person. try and make a difference every day, I treat like karma, do good things and good things will happen to you." -Josh Rivas, Technician at Briargate. #adamandsonautorepair #autorepair #autorepairshop #companyculture #PersonalGrowth #MakeADifference #BeTheChange #ImpactMatters #ChangeTheWorld #LeadWithPurpose #CreateChange #PositiveImpact #DoGood #TogetherWeCan #ActOfKindness #InspireChange #LeaveALegacy #BetterTogether #StandForGood #HelpOthers #coloradosprings #colorado #co

Four sunsets til Piccadilly. Feel a little old to be talking sleeps. And I am not sleeping anyway. The final few days in the run up to #PurpleTuesday celebration day are always so intense. Yes. The initiative is absolutely about what happens 365 days a year. But can’t kid myself that this day isn’t pivotal. Doesn’t matter more. Sets the platform for the coming year. Profile. Participants. Pressure. To grow. Expand. Dive deeper. Sustainable impact. And surpass the 30 million audience reach. So more organisations. More disabled people sharing their lived experience. And disabled allies becoming an even bigger force. Right around the world. Used to think and behave like I didn’t need downtime in this period. Could operate at full force. Uptime continuously. 19 hour days for weeks was a badge of honour. Not the denial stupidity it actually is. Have finally found my effective downtime. Seafront walks. Or ride in my wheelchair. With the kids who simply don’t care. And just want their sugar laced donuts. Fresh air refuels the mind and adds to productivity. Creativity. Energy for endurance. What is your equivalent watching the sunset. Makes your downtime work for you. #ThinkAccessibility is the central message this year. If you see something that passes the ‘ah, that’s good/clever’ test then capture it and share tagging in Purple Tuesday. There is so much out there. Wheels don’t always need reinventing. Making people aware. Enabled to adapt. Is often enough. Last year I came across a contraption that enabled doors to be opened by a foot: https://lnkd.in/e98WGjsG Invented for medical staff in Covid times to avoid clean hands touching door handles. But total accessibility for me. Seen it in 10 other places since. Examples like this should become the norm. A quick mention and nod to all my colleagues in CareTech. We create and use accessible solutions every day. Capture. And share with the world please. #SocialCare can lead the way alongside all sectors. The success of Purple Tuesday will be measured by whether the disability conversation changes. Play your part in showing accessibility matters. Happy Friday. #Southend #Seafront #Walks #Sunset #Downtime #PiccadillyLights #DisabilityConversation31 #BeASue Image Description: A photo of a beautiful orange sunset overlooking the sea in Mike’s local area.
