👍🏼 This year, I decided to do something a little different—my "Year of Yes." After stepping away from the grind of work while I reset myself, I’ve been embracing the freedom that comes with not having to hustle. It’s not always easy to break away from that deeply ingrained need to be productive, but I’m learning to let go and say yes to the opportunities life presents, especially during these beautiful summer months.
🫂 I just returned from a two-week vacation, visiting four different places, and one thing stood out in each of them—the sense of community. Whether it was coming together to celebrate incredible achievements and sportsmanship at the Olympics, sitting down over a shared pot of coffee and tiny sandwiches with wonderful people, having a glass of wine and great conversations with unknown people I happened to be sitting at the same table with, or joining an arts & crafts workshop with people from all walks of the world, I realized how much I thrive on bringing people together and being part of a group. Building communities, creating spaces where people connect and grow together—that’s what I love and what I do best.
🫶🏾 This experience has reminded me of the power of community, not just in those special vacation moments, but in our everyday lives. We often get so caught up in our individual goals that we forget the importance of the people around us. But when we take a step back, we see that communities are where we find support, inspiration, and true connection.
💭 I invite you to take a moment today to reconsider your everyday settings from a community perspective. What do the communities in your life add to your experience? How can you contribute to or create spaces that bring people together? Let’s reflect on the value of community and the richness it brings to our lives. Say yes to it, every chance you get.
