We take 2 years to learn how to speak, but it takes our whole life to learn how to stay silent and listen. Want to be a tough guy in the workplace - staying silent is surprisingly the key. 1. Don’t show your emotions easily 2. Don’t talk too much for nothing 3. Don’t complain Being silent is powerful. In the silience, you observe, you listen, and you’ll be surprised by the information you can learn through this. www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow

In the world of recruitment and professional growth, we often encounter two types of individuals: "I Can Do" – These are the people who are confident in their skills and knowledge. They know their capabilities and are quick to list out what they can do. This mindset is important – it shows self-awareness and confidence. But is it enough? "I Will Do" – This is where action comes into play. People with an "I will do" attitude don't just acknowledge their skills, they commit to applying them. They focus on delivering results, taking initiative, and following through. In today's fast-paced work environment, the difference between the two can determine your impact on a project, a team, or a company. While skills matter, it's your willingness to take action and deliver that sets you apart. Which one defines you? Comment below if you're more "I Can Do" or "I Will Do." www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow

You can be good and effective at your work, but if you don’t know how to communicate promptly, you could miss valuable opportunities. When I was younger, anytime my boss gave me a task, I would reply with a simple "noted" or "ok" right away, even if I didn’t have an immediate answer. Acknowledging it first and then working on it showed quick responsiveness. It’s a small action that can have a big impact as it gives assurance to your boss (of course, your result then have to follow too to match with your words). As I shared this on XHS, a follower agreed and shared her own experience: "The first rule of managing upwards is to respond promptly. Because I reply quickly, my boss often thinks of me first, even if it’s for something challenging. But resources tend to go to those who respond, so even for tough tasks, the boss supports me." This can’t be more true. Try doing this and see what happens! Cheers! www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow

Being an entrepreneur can be incredibly demanding, and lately, I've found myself caught up in the whirlwind of responsibilities. It's tough when I realize I've missed out on quality time with my daughters. That's why I've made a simple request to them - when I come home, I ask them to share just one thing about their day, especially what they've experienced in class. It's a small but meaningful way for us to stay connected amidst the busy schedules. Sometimes, my drive to push hard and succeed is questioned, especially by my mom. “Why do you want to push so hard for?” she would say. But for me, it's about creating a better future not just for myself and my family, but also for the recruitment industry in Malaysia. Balancing these ambitions with family time is a challenge, but one I'm committed to navigating. How do you manage to strike that balance in your life? I am still learning! www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow

I recently had a reflection session with my team using the Traffic Light System to gauge our workload and overall situation. It's a simple yet effective way to check in with each other: * Red: Dangerous * Orange: Manageable but high alert * Green: Smooth I started by sharing that my status was orange, close to red, as I currently have a lot on my plate. Eventhough I look like I have everything in control, I knew that things will start overflowing and I have to be extremely careful. This exercise helped us to share my thoughts and mutually understanding the energy levels of the team. Knowing where everyone stands helps us support each other better and distribute the workload more effectively. After the check in, we wrapped up the session by asking, "Who do you want to appreciate?" This allowed us to recognize and appreciate team members for their hard work and support, fostering a positive and collaborative environment. Regular check-ins like this are crucial for maintaining a healthy, productive team. It’s about more than just managing tasks; it’s about ensuring everyone feels supported and valued. If you’re reading this post, do take a moment to do an assessment on yourself too. What's your traffic light today? Cheers! www.vhrconsultancy.com VHR Consultancy #vhrasia #vhrcreatesvalue #welearnwesharewecreatevalue #fangkailow
