During my years of assisting global companies, I have observed several changes that occur from year to year. Here's what I've learned: 1. Timing is crucial There is no one-size-fits-all strategy that works best for every industry or company, as everything boils down to the unique risks and strategies involved. 2. Product testing is indispensable Understanding market responsiveness towards products is essential. Stepping out of the office and engaging with people helps identify gaps in our products within the market. Asking the right questions based on our capabilities is crucial during this process. 3. Bridging the business culture gap As the market evolves daily, different countries have distinct negotiation approaches, which influence the terms of contracts and agreements. 4. Market entry always entails risks Every company has its risk profile, as there are investment required either setup an entity, joined marketing cost with local distributor, or hire a local talent directly However, having trusted local partners can mitigate these risks. These partners, whether entities or individuals are adept at capturing market attention and updates. Recognizing the differences in working culture between international and local talent is crucial. Hence, our firm has established a new brand, Peoplepals.id, a platform dedicated to connecting global companies with curated local talent to foster business growth. "What is the similarity between a banker and a consultant?" That question from the speaker stuck in my head for a while. Earlier, we heard the news about Bank Commonwealth Indonesia was acquired. Closing its operation after 20ish years established. And just when I found these awards recognition display around the corner, I can't help not to ponder and think about the business and services itself. One of source that I read about the acquisition was due to pandemic effect. I'm not really sure what the cause exactly, yet the impact that was brought up surely about the ex-employee losing their job, which I hope everyone impacted got through this difficult situation. From the lifecycle point of view, I believe every business has its own phases. I am really interested on learning how business could sustain for like hundreds of years. There were time where business perhaps already reached the golden period or peak time, and then declining. Just like a human lifecycle, from childhood - adulthood - old age. I never been in banking industry nor a banker. Back to the question above, what is similarity between a banker and a consultant? The answer is about the service. But is it enough? As started last year, I am newly a consultant for what I've been doing more than decades, Supply Chain and Operation, and still open for more area of interested (thanks to curiosity that causing this never stop learning energy, always find something new to add to "been there, done that"). Although I am still learning to use that "consultant" hat instead of used to be the "client" itself, I am gaining more perspectives along the way. Change of mindset too, of course. Since the "service" itself perhaps not enough, but indeed important as one of main reason why client choose us over others candidates..of course at the end of the day, the work will speak for themselves. I will conclude with the quotes "You have power over your mind not outside events, realize this and you will find strength." - Marcus Aurelius Enjoy and have a great day, happy Friday folks!

It was still fresh in my mind; end Sep 2022 - it was only my 2nd months working in the company; still a probationer and just resume work after my maternity leave. One of my senior management member drops me an email; informing that I was assign to lead a manufacturing integration project with a tight dateline given. Being a new joiner; and still learning about the merger and aquisition that just happened - it was alot to process but I remember a word from an ex-GM in my ex-company “Never say no to a task because when you are given a task, that means they trust your capabilities”. Hence, I took up the assignment and learned as I went along the way. I named it Project U - it’s a reorganization initiative to consolidate the manufacturing operations of URC Malaysia and Munchy’s. The goal is everything has to be completed on 1st January 2024 with some specific key results. It involves not only the business in the domestic markets but international markets as well. We had 10 workstreams of 77 members who works diligently to overcame challenges of complex integration process to ensure seamless transition while complying to the laws and regulations. I remember times where we’ll have roadblocks and extreme challenges especially with laws, regulations and government policies which poses various risk to the business but at the end of the day; nothing is impossible. Throughout the experience, there were 2 things that I were extremely grateful. Its fast route for me to learned about the business in and out which has helped alot in my Legal & Corporate Affairs department’s operation and secondly, I have wonderful team members that really makes things happen despite the odds. This project has truly build a strong bonding and trust for me and the team members. And 20th May 2024; we celebrated the success, efforts and all the sweats of my team in our Group’s award night - UR Choice Award. Project U won Runner Up in the Game Changer Category for Business Efficiency. A proof that we’re able to challenge the impossible, dare to make bold decisions to make things happened and also; a Legal person can be a generalist thus contributing to the organization beyond the legal scope of work! #alhamdulillah

🌟 Operational Optimization Workshop at Bank of Singapore, Asia's Global Private Bank Malaysia office: A Success in Collaboration and Discovery! 🌟 I recently had the privilege of facilitating the Operational Optimization Workshop (OO Workshop) at #BankofSingapore Malaysia office, and I am thrilled to share the positive outcomes with all of you. The workshop provided an invaluable platform for our Malaysia colleagues to break down silos and collaborate more effectively. Through the discovery and uncovering of our product and services workflows, participants gained a deeper understanding of each other's work. This clarity not only fostered better teamwork but also instilled a stronger sense of pride in our collective purpose. By identifying and addressing internal and external inefficiencies, the workshop highlighted key pain points that need to be resolved. Participants engaged in studying both demand and capability, which helped them identify gaps and set more realistic expectations. This, in turn, will enable us to better serve our customers and meet their needs more effectively. Although there were no changes to the existing workflows, the workshop allowed participants to pinpoint areas for improvement. These identified action points are the starting blocks for evolutionary changes, ensuring continuous growth and betterment from where we are now. I am incredibly proud of the dedication and insight shown by all participants. Together, we are on the path to making significant strides in operational excellence. Let's continue to build on this momentum and drive forward with the same collaborative spirit! Thanks to Rozita Awang, SPHRi and Azfar Mahdi PHRi, MyCP for working with me to setup this workshop. 🚀💼 #OperationalOptimization #Collaboration #ContinuousImprovement #BOSWMMY #TeamSuccess #OneTeam #Agile #Kanban #Statik #OO #BOSAgilityStudio #Transformation #Change #EvolutionaryChange #BusinessAgility
