"Hey everyone! I wanted to share an incredible experience I had in February 2024 when I attended a military training camp organized by my college. It was an action-packed week filled with challenges, growth, and unforgettable memories! During the training, we were exposed to intense physical activities that tested our endurance and pushed us beyond our limits. From obstacle courses to team-building exercises, every moment was an opportunity to learn and grow. The camp taught me the importance of discipline, resilience, and the power of teamwork. One of the most valuable lessons I took away from the experience was the significance of effective communication and collaboration. Working together with my fellow participants, we tackled various obstacles and accomplished tasks that seemed impossible at first. The sense of camaraderie and support among us was truly inspiring. Not only did the training enhance my physical strength, but it also strengthened my mental fortitude. I learned to embrace challenges with a positive mindset and to never give up, no matter how tough the situation seemed. The camp instilled in me a sense of determination and perseverance that I carry with me to this day. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have participated in this military training camp. It has shaped me into a more disciplined, resilient, and confident individual. I'm excited to apply the skills and lessons I learned in my future endeavors. If you're looking for a transformative experience that will push you out of your comfort zone and help you grow both personally and professionally, I highly recommend considering a military training program. It's an experience like no other! #MilitaryTraining #CollegeExperience #PersonalGrowth #Teamwork #Resilience"

Had a great conversation today with #americancorporatepartners regarding a mentor and my goals post transition. My point of contact mentioned that most transitioning veterans only use their services 6-12 months from separation. I could speculate why but found that itself worth thinking about. American Corporate Partners (ACP) #transitioningveterans Why do you think that might be? Leaders what would you tell your subordinates to do? Give acp a look if your transitioning or if you have a desire to help veterans as a mentor.

This year was quite the adventure, moving from supporting thousands of community college students to supporting thousands of enlisted military personnel in their educational pursuits. When it comes to student success, the mission may change but the heart of the work remains the same; helping individuals achieve educational and career success. Key moments that summarize my impact: • Expanded student success frameworks at U.S. Naval Community College • Advanced mental health awareness initiatives across workforce and educational contexts • Strengthened mentorship of emerging leaders Three posts that resonated deeply with our LinkedIn community: “It is my life's mission to help save lives through education. Mental health doesn't have a 'look' and affects all ages, genders, and people of varying socioeconomic status." "I have been fortunate to have many great mentors throughout my career, and I believe it is my duty to pay the wisdom and kindness forward with other emerging leaders." "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready" - On maintaining readiness to serve students wherever they are Looking ahead to 2025: My focus is on deepening USNCC's impact - expanding impact of support systems that help our service members excel academically while honoring their unique challenges and strengths. May the New Year ahead provide the blessings and opportunities for your success! #studentsuccess #militaryeducation #NavalEducation #LinkedInRewind2024

What an invaluable concept I think needs deep exploration! I remember doing a deep dive during my Masters and coming away with the distinct idea that adult learning is centered on the motivation / incentive to learn. Adult minds stop expanding across all facets and hone in on what is important to their role, job, or unique interests which is where the self-motivation and reflection components become more pivotal in learning when older, than when younger. I used this approach to purposely incentivize organizational goals, which I think helped in both trust and motivation. I think there does need to be a more focused look at how we identify, apply, and encourage organizational goals through that lens. Often training can turn into the good ol' "check the block" instead of actually looking at how we tie it back to individual motivations. It takes a lot of work for leaders because it can mean that you have to appeal to each person on a more personal level. Where do you think front line leaders can best apply ALM principles, and should we put greater emphasis on them in entry-level leadership courses or in later PME like CGSC or SLC?
Reflecting on 23 years of US Army training 🎖️ and education 📚…. What are your experiences in truly embracing the Adult Learning Model across all dimensions of growth? In today’s complex, multidomain environment, integrating ALM into every aspect of military development is crucial — from Professional Military Education (PME) to training, personal development, and leader development. ALM promotes self-directed learning, hands-on experience, and critical thinking, ensuring our leaders aren’t just mastering doctrine but evolving as adaptive, lifelong learners. Whether it’s a classroom, field exercise, or personal reflection, learning must be dynamic, problem-centered, and transformational. Are we leveraging these principles in every phase of our development? #MilitaryEducation #LeaderDevelopment #Training #LifelongLearning #AdultLearningModel #AdaptiveLeaders #CriticalThinking #ProfessionalGrowth
