Over the past year, I’ve hired quite a few bookkeepers and accountants here in the Philippines. Each job opening has got it’s interesting candidates, but last week’s experience? I took a second look at the name who sent her application. A girl I know personally who owns multiple resorts in our province. I couldn’t help but joke: "Wait, is there an opening at your resort? I can drain the water in your pool with my bare hands. 😂" When we had a call I asked her why she wanted a full-time job, even though her resorts are clearly doing well. Her answers? ➡️ 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 – Even if you’re running a successful business, there’s comfort in knowing you’ve got something stable. ➡️ 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗷𝗼𝗯 – She loves what she does and wants to keep doing it, no matter how well her business is going. ➡️ 𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 – Her current hybrid setup just isn’t cutting it. She needs to be on-site at least twice or thrice a month. She wants the freedom that comes with remote work. Success doesn’t always mean what we think it does. For her, it’s not just about money or being a "boss." It’s about finding stability, doing what she loves, and living life on her terms. Honestly, that’s exactly why I do what I do, to help people like her build a setup that works for them. (But I’m serious about the pool-draining though)

If you post a job somewhere and it looks like other jobs on that site... ...ONLY mediocre people will apply. How do you attract them? Think about: 👉 What makes your firm unique? 👉 What do you have to offer (in growth opportunities)? 👉 What are your values? 👉 What is your culture? 👉 What would the most ideal person for this role be like (personality/character)?
