🚗💥 Did you know your car has a “black box” just like an airplane? 🛑 Most modern cars are equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR) that captures crucial data seconds before and after an accident! This valuable information can be the key to determining what happened during a crash. 📊🔍 Here’s what your car's EDR might record: Seat belt use 🧍♂️ Vehicle speed 🚗💨 Airbag deployment times 🎈 Brake usage 🦶🛑 Steering angles 🔄 Force of impact 💥 This data could be essential in accident investigations and improving future vehicle safety. However, getting access to it is a job for the experts! 🛠️ 🔑 Don't risk losing vital evidence – let professionals extract the data safely and legally! Automatic Emergency Braking is simply understood as a braking system that uses radar, laser or camera sensors to observe and detect potential risks and give warnings to the driver. This system will help you limit collisions with other vehicles on the road. In terms of function, this feature is responsible for notifying the driver of an impending collision, and automatically braking the vehicle with maximum force. At the same time, it supports automatic braking in emergency situations that may occur. When driving on the road, the Vinfast VF8 can automatically brake by using the Collision Warning feature on the vehicle. The system will then be activated to warn the user before braking suddenly. However, AEB automatic emergency braking only works effectively at safe speeds. So if the vehicle is moving at high speed, the braking force will not be strong enough to stop the vehicle completely. One thing I really like about this feature is that the automatic emergency braking system in the VF8 is that it can work on many types of terrain. In fact, when driving on slippery roads, the stopping distance of the car can increase. Or in bright sunny or foggy weather conditions, the ability to detect dangers will be affected. https://lnkd.in/gyCDke6B

Forward collision warning (FCW) systems detect stopped cars and stationary objects in front of cars and warn drivers. They’re included in many new cars, along with other advanced driver assistance systems. But how effective are FCW systems in the real world? Exponent’s automotive experts reviewed 60 studies on FCW and automotive accidents to examine how drivers respond to FCWs. Read about their findings in a new study published by Sage: https://hubs.li/Q02VptGR0 David Cades, Iiona D. ❓ Have you ever wondered what happens to a car when the driver has a medical emergency? That’s what Emergency Assist is for. Emergency Assist is one of the most connected functions in the entire vehicle – and it is able to take over longitudinal and lateral guidance, the warning signal, horn and brakes using multiple different vehicle actuators. If the driver does not show any driving activity due to a medical emergency, Emergency Assist can detect this and attempt to make the driver react, e.g. by ▶️ Tightening the seatbelt ▶️ Giving warning signals ▶️ Or breaking abruptly If this does not succeed, the function will bring the vehicle to a controlled stop within the system limits and can thus possibly prevent an accident. __ #WeAreCARIAD #EmergencyAssist #SafteyFunctions *Future functions of Emergency Assist which are not available yet. 🛣️ Lane changes on highways can be particularly nerve-wracking, especially when large trucks are involved. Lane-changing incidents contribute to around 12% of motorway accidents. However, advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) with automated features can significantly reduce these numbers. 💡 ZF's innovative #ADAS technology combines advanced braking and steering platforms like OnGuardMAX, mBSP XBS, and ReAX. Additionally, an in-cab camera continuously monitors driver attention, enhancing safety during automatic lane changes. When the system detects that the driver is alert and the next lane is clear, it initiates the lane change as soon as the driver signals. If these conditions aren't met, the system warns the driver, preventing unsafe maneuvers. 🔗 Discover more about how ZF is revolutionizing highway safety: https://spr.ly/6047iupAW #CommercialVehicles #AutomatedDriving

In just one month, from 7 July 2024, all vehicles registered in Europe will have to comply with the new European Vehicle General Safety Regulations, known as GSR. ⚙️ 🚚 Requirements such as Moving Off Information System (MOIS), Blind Spot Information System (BSIS), Reversing Information System (REIS), Intelligent Speed Assist (ISA), Driver Drowsiness & Alertness Warning (DDAW) and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) will then apply to commercial vehicles. According to European Commission, human error is estimated to play a role in 95% of accidents. The new safety measures are expected to save over 25,000 lives and avoid at least 140,000 serious injuries by 2038. ⌛ 🚚 ZF's GSR ADAS Suite is tailored to help OEMs meet regulatory requirements, with vulnerable road users protection and driver safety at the forefront. Beyond that, ZF is committed to outperforming regulation requirements. ZF’s City Bus Collision Mitigation System, for instance, is designed to mitigate an impending collision while protecting the passengers on board. 📰 Find out more at our webpage 👉 https://spr.ly/6043e838h, or go to the upcoming Busworld - Exhibitions to live experience ZF’s safety solutions for buses and coaches. #safety #ZF #GSRcompliance #CommercialVehicles #RoadSafety
