This week, let's dive into some practical tips for landing your dream job and making my job a breeze! 😄 🤲 Compassionate communication: On LinkedIn, it's a good idea to connect with people who work at IT companies you're interested in. But don't just walk in and say: "Hi! You don't know me, but I'm cool, please refer me." Instead, look at their profile, engage with their content, and find common themes or interests. Then you can ask for advice about joining their company. Polite and genuine engagement goes a long way! 🙋♀️ Connect with recruiters: Connect with hiring managers on LinkedIn. It's the best way to get the first notification of job openings. To join Vention, you can connect with me or my colleague Alejandro Cigales. 🔍 Check company websites: Many companies in Mexico don't post their job openings on job aggregators like OCCMundial, GlassDoor, or Indeed. Instead, visit the company's official website and go to the careers section. Maybe you’ll discover something interesting for yourself! 🧹It’s obvious, but have you polished your LinkedIn Profile? If you have not, then this is the sign you waited for: · List your companies and main responsibilities. · Highlight your skills and relevant programming languages/frameworks. · Use specific titles like "Senior Java Developer" or "Full-Stack Developer (.NET + React)" in your current position field to improve your visibility in searches. Remember, Vention is always looking for talented individuals like you! Follow the link to apply and join us: https://lnkd.in/dzJnw4a6 #JobSearch #CareerTips

Launched! Jobs report No. 3 of recently posted, hand-picked software engineer jobs The current job market is bananas. Some have said it’s worst than Dotcom and 08 era. I mean it took me 100 days to find a job when I was on the interview grind earlier this year. Interviewing is hard. Excessive preparation sucks. Sourcing the right jobs is labor intensive. But I want to make your job search a little bit easier. Here is the 3rd issue of 24H Software Jobs, a newsletter where you can get hand-picked, recently posted software engineer roles. I spend countless hours searching the web for the best jobs and organizing them into a neat spreadsheet so you don’t have to. All you need to do is filter and apply. Here is the latest issue: https://lnkd.in/eUS2x5q4 To get these via email, subscribe here: https://lnkd.in/eDsFybEk

Just because my recent posts have been about recruitment doesn't mean I've stepped away from coding. In fact, it's quite the opposite - I've been busy showcasing why being a jack-of-all-trades in tech is severely underrated. Context of the Screenshot attached (Had to censor some keywords for confidentiality) : I recently completed a full-fledged app solo in 6 months, including a crucial import feature. A feature which took an entire team elsewhere a month to implement. From backend to frontend, with some nginx wizardry thrown in, I can handle it all. This isn't about comparing teams or timelines. It's about versatility. In today's tech landscape, the ability to navigate multiple domains isn't just useful - it's essential. While specialists definitely have their place, there's immense value in developers who can adapt, pivot, and deliver across the stack. So yes, I can spot talent and lead recruitment drives. But at my core, I'm a full-stack developer who thrives on challenges across the development spectrum. Need someone who can architect a solution end-to-end and then build it? That's where I shine. #FullStackDeveloper #TechVersatility #SoloProject

Totally agree! ✅ In 5yrs & 9mos across 3 companies, I've built and mentored multiple challenging projects from scratch to large scale. Problem-solving and portfolio diversity matter more than years on a single product. Let's focus on skills and ability, not just work experience numbers! #developerlife #recruitment #TechJobsIndia #ITJobsIndia #Hiring #TechRecruitment #developers

Why do we focus so heavily on "years of experience" in tech? The real skill is in solving problems. Most of the software, languages, frameworks etc we use are just tools. They have a finite scope and wide ranging application. I can confidently say I won't know much more about Typescript in 4 years time than I do now. There's a lot I still don't know, but if it doesn't solve my problem i'm unlikely to go looking for it. It's not a guarantee. Even with problem solving, years experience simply doesn't translate to actual ability. Someone who has been at one company, building one product for 10 years is unlikely to be as good at problem solving as someone with 5 years working at a few different companies and different products. I wish tech recruitment wasn't so narrowly focused, and instead treat developers as individuals. "Industry standard" is a myth. "Experience" is subjective and tech recruitment is broken. #developerlife #recruitment
