I want to introduce the project I have been working on in 2024: Favamole! Favamole isn’t just an alternative—it’s a tasty revolution! 🌱 Why Favamole? Because food should be fun, nourishing, and impactful! With Favamole, we blend locally sourced ingredients with bold ideas to create something unique—a deliciously sustainable alternative packed with plant-based protein and fiber that brings a positive impact with every bite. By choosing fava beans over avocados, we can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 27 times, making Favamole a better choice for both people and the planet. With every bite, you support regenerative agriculture, your health, and a sustainable way to eat. And it doesn’t stop there—we’re making sustainability accessible at a competitive price point, welcoming everyone to join this movement for positive change! Together, let’s dip into a “favalous” future, creating a world where every bite matters—for our health, our soil, and our planet. 💚🫘🫛 #WhyFavamole #SustainableInnovation #FoodRevolution #RegenerativeAgriculture #LowerEmissions #CompetitivePricing #PositiveImpact #LocalFood #FutureOfFood Koen van Seijen Fernando Russo Frank Holleman ✅Jeroen Moolenaar Sjacco V. HAPPY MONDAY ☕ I love this quote on so many levels. For instance, I didn't know that Rohan Marley was the son of Bob Marley and that amongst his many achievements- he is a sustainable coffee farmer ☕❤ Ahhhh coffee ...so much more than a simple beverage. Here at GFG we appreciate all the love and passion that goes into growing and cultivating coffee beans🌱 despite all the farming challenges. We love the skill of the roaster in their quest to provide us with the perfect roasted bean. We love the baristas who deliver us the best cup of coffee☕ BUT - do you know what is heartbreaking ? One cup later and all that 'good' is thrown away and may even do harm to the earth. Here at GFG we stop that happening - we recycle #spentcoffeegrounds and give them another lease of life ♻🌍. We take all that love and passion embedded within those beans and let them shine again !! We allow coffee to give back to the earth. Are you following us on our journey ? #jointhegfggang Rosie x Pop to www.groundsforgood.co.uk to see what we do with our #usedcoffee #coffeelovers #planetfriendly #good4theplanet #good4thecommunity #stopfoodwaste #reuse #circulareconomy #newfoodanddrinkfromold #sustainablebusiness #welshbrand #dogood #socialenterprise

National Trust to vote on expanding vegan options in cafés 🌱 The National Trust is considering making 50% of its café offerings plant-based as part of its net zero strategy. Currently, around 40% of its catering is plant-based. The proposal will go to a vote at the upcoming AGM. The Trust’s leadership argues that reducing the amount of meat and dairy on the menu will have a significant environmental impact. However, the proposal has sparked debate with some members, especially those with ties to farming communities, who believe food choices should not be 'imposed' on others. Do you think making menus 50% plant-based is the right approach? Let us know in the comments. 👇 #Veganuary #NationalTrust #PlantBased #NetZero #Sustainability #PlantBasedDiet (Image Credit: Adam Cole)

I love getting the backstory on how companies came to be, especially when it’s a combination of happenstance, vision and perseverance. Here’s more on Verde Farms from Janet Jones Kendall and Brad Johnson.
Verde Farms CEO Brad Johnson joined SmartBrief’s Janet Jones Kendall at the Annual Meat Conference in Nashville, Tenn., to talk about the organic and grass-fed beef producer’s unique origin story and why the brand has often been ahead of the curve on sustainable practices. 🐄 He also shares what consumers are seeking from their beef products and how Verde Farms is innovating to meet customer needs. 🍔 FMI- The Food Industry Association #sustainability #organicfood #meatindustry #foodretail #meatconference #consumerinsights

In the wake of #sustainability, the world is seeing growing scarcity of resources - including food, perhaps the most basic need for human sustenance. An astonishing 1.3 billion tons of food are wasted or lost, in a year. As we learn to become more conscious consumers, the rally in food activism is our #inspiration. We have seen big names such as Massimo Bottura for his ongoing food advocacy and work in sustainable food systems. If you are a fan of culinary competitions, you may have watched Final Table and come across Charles Michel and Rodrigo Pacheco as they creatively incorporate "forgotten" or "often discarded" ingredients. While we may not be able to create a marriage of an art form and social good, we can do our part in minimalising our food waste. Read more: https://lnkd.in/gi9GjbDd https://lnkd.in/gerPXNcW
