Best decision I made thus far in my business and entrepreneurial journey, is to bring in Sulfya Lim as part of the cofounding team to GoTechUp last year. Now as we’re building our case studies and pipeline, we managed to get a leg in to run POC with two key partners, for two separate and key projects, one being in the automotive industry and another is a education government agency of a very prominent country..😜(P/S: we are bridging the industry- education gap) I am now settling my handover of business operations in Malaysia and I’m going ALL in to build on my startup (Tech Up Advance) … hope the Asia and Global market is ready for me! 🎯🎯 As we’re moving to the next chapter of our development, the three of us (Sulfya Lim and Kah Fai Lok) realised we have a big gap and funding (or lack of, being one) and we need more AMAZING brain that can balance our insecurities and gaps and someone who’s willing to be paid in sweat equity. We are now focused on intentionally scouting for another co-founder among our connections (of course the best in the field), venture builders who want to build and go through this amazing journey with me. So if you’re a Tech entrepreneur who love games and challenging stuff like robotics, science, crazy with a ❤️ for education and have growth mindset, and you think you can cope with my pace (can ask Sulfya Lim and Kah Fai how crazy), let’s have coffee ☕️. I’ll be in SG next week and every 2 week thereafter. #gotechup #stillbuilding #failingglamorously

📎 Urvashi Barooah’s Unconventional Path to Becoming a VC Partner at Redpoint 💫 Urvashi Barooah’s journey to becoming a partner at Redpoint Ventures is a testament to perseverance and unwavering ambition. Despite facing rejections from MBA programs and being told her dream of entering venture capital was unrealistic, Barooah remained undeterred. Growing up in Guwahati, India with entrepreneurial parents who encouraged her to forge her own path, she was determined to work with founders. ➡️ After earning an MBA from Wharton, Barooah cold-called an estimated 50 VCs, eventually securing internships that led to a full-time role at Redpoint in 2019. Her upbringing exposed her to the challenges of entrepreneurship, instilling a resilience and ability to roll with the punches—invaluable traits for a successful VC. ➡️ Over the past four years, Barooah has honed her investment acumen, backing companies like Dune Analytics and Offchain Labs. Now she is being promoted to partner, one of three focused on early-stage investments at the firm. ➡️ Barooah’s journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring VCs, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds or unconventional paths. Her story highlights the importance of perseverance, adaptability, and a willingness to take contrarian bets in an industry where networks and connections often reign supreme. As she embarks on her new role as a partner, Barooah’s diverse experiences and relentless pursuit of her passion position her well to identify and support promising founders, shaping the future of innovation and entrepreneurship. For startup founders seeking funding and guidance, Barooah’s ascent underscores the value of perseverance and resilience in the face of adversity. By surrounding themselves with investors who possess not only acumen but also a deep understanding of the entrepreneurial journey, founders can increase their chances of success and navigate the inevitable challenges that arise along the way. #VentureStories

I couldn’t agree more with Mr. CP Gurnani’s thoughtful approach to integrating emerging technologies with real-world needs, fostering innovation! As someone who champions emerging technologies, it’s vital to ensure they align with real-world needs and create meaningful opportunities. The Challenge: Imagine you're at an airport. We've all faced those frustrating moments. Now, here's your chance to change that! Identify a pain point that passengers, airlines, or airports experience and propose an AI-driven solution. They’re looking for creative, technically feasible ideas that understand the problem deeply and promise significant impact. What’s in it for participants ? The best idea wins an exclusive internship at @AlonOS, working directly with their innovative team in the TTLH vertical! Plus, the top three ideas will be showcased on there LinkedIn and Twitter channels. This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase your problem-solving skills and make a tangible difference in the aviation industry. Kudos to the entire team for championing such impactful initiatives! Reposted to extend reach.
😱 In a first for us, CP Gurnani made an open offer on Internshala chat show to all the startups in travel, tourism, logistics, and hotel industry that if they have a problem statement worth solving and have a solution for it; he will give them the resources and will empower them to build it. From accepting Sam Altman's challenge to throwing a challenge to India's entrepreneurs; CP truly embodies the spirit of going all in! ❤️ If you are building something in the above domains, please get in touch with him and if you know someone who could benefit from this offer, please do share it with them. Let's show him what he told Sam Atlman - "Challenge accepted!" 💪

I didn’t just stumble into running two parallel careers in real estate and digital marketing for high-growth startups. My journey began with real estate. I was an enthusiast, agent, and investor long before I ventured into digital marketing. Those who knew me back in my University of Ibadan days will remember me as the go-to person for off-campus student housing before I transitioned to selling land and homes in Ibadan. Looking back, going digital was the right move. The diverse experiences I’ve gained working with growth startups across industries like fintech, retail distribution, e-commerce, events, agriculture, fashion, and healthcare have significantly shaped my understanding of how businesses should be run and scaled. I'm incredibly proud of my 5-year journey, adding digital growth hacking to my skillset while staying rooted in my passion for real estate. Here's to growth and continued learning! #DigitalMarketing #RealEstate #GrowthMindset #StartupSuccess

Its the completion of 3 weeks of interning in AIC-SMUTBI & one of the most important lesson I've learned & want to share that, is to seize every chance for personal improvement. Every task, no matter how minor, advances my growth. The focus on innovation serves as a reminder to me that novel ideas can result from looking beyond the box. I've learned the value of maintaining resolve in the face of difficulties by watching the tenacity and tenacity of company founders. The collaborative setting emphasizes the value of learning from others and working as a team. Adaptability and ongoing learning are crucial in this dynamic environment. Dreams can come true if you have faith in them and put in the necessary effort to realize them. A lot of startups emphasize having a positive social and environmental impact, proving that companies can be positive forces in the world. Overall, this is the platform that improved my professional skills and fueled my enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and creativity. So in my POV, i suggest that its high time,"Unlock your startup's potential with world-class mentorship, resources, and funding at AIC-SMUTBI and turn your innovative ideas into reality!" 👍 AIC - SMU Technology Business Incubator Tej Chingtham Lakshyaa Gurung

As I continue to share insights on investments in the MENA region, today’s spotlight is on an EdTech project. Educatly, an Egyptian EdTech startup, has successfully raised $2.5 million in a Seed funding round. The round was led by TLcom Capital LLP and Plus VC (+VC), with participation from Egypt Ventures and the HBAN syndicate. This isn't Educatly's first investment success. Back in 2021, the startup secured $1 million in a pre-Seed round from Falak Startups, Enterprise Island, and a group of angel investors. Founded in 2020, Educatly is on a mission to help students navigate their career paths by providing AI-powered insights into universities and internships worldwide. The platform connects over 1,100 universities across 90 countries, making it a key player in global education. With this new round of funding, Educatly plans to scale to new markets and enhance the quality of its offerings. What’s your take on the growing interest in EdTech in the MENA region? Let’s discuss in the comments.
