This is really hard for me to articulate, but I need an outlet. I typically steer clear of political discussions. I never want to offend anyone because I'm not built that way, but I can't help but feel bewildered by recent events. How can someone be found guilty of 34 felony charges and then immediately raise $32 million in a SINGLE DAY? Meanwhile, nonprofits like mine, which make a real difference in our communities, struggle to raise funds. Funds that could create life-changing opportunities for young people providing them with the skills and connections they need to face challenges and secure meaningful jobs. Yet, we struggled trying to raise $3 million to purchase a building dedicated to workforce development for youth in foster care. We actually had to get a loan. Make it make sense!
