I’ve come to the conclusion that asking anyone to work only for equity, while they experience financial anxiety, puts people in level 1. You don’t get the best leadership, vision, creativity, or service mindset from that situation. In #womenshealth, trust from the end user and stakeholders is essential such that level 7, a focus on #ethics, is essential, not just a nice to have. Am not sure I agree with level 6. Good leaders always use data to guide. Intuition can mislead.

Villy, your insightful post on Levels of Leadership prompted me to racall the following interview with the question:
[ 🔹 Name one person who symbolized great leadership? ]
Visionary Leaders (in Level 7 of consciousness - Service) are a rare breed.
Interestingly in the CBC Interview One-on-One (in Toronto, Canada) Peter Mansbridge (PM) asked His Highness the Aga Khan (AK) to name one person who symbolized great leadership.
Here is the transcript of the exchange:
PM: Last question. Because you have been on the stage,
AK: (Chuckles)
PM: Of international leaders for more than half a century — still look pretty young …
AK: (Chuckles) Thank you.
—-
PM: But tell me … it’s always my goal to try and understand something about leadership and you’ve had the close up view, of so many, from, what, Kennedy to the current crop, you’ve seen them all, in countries around the world.
Can you pick out one person who symbolized great leadership?
AK: Maybe not one person. I think I could pick out qualities. I’ve seen Heads of State whose capacity to think ahead of their times has been magnificent. I have seen individuals whose intellectual dimension has enabled them to bring forward articulation on forces of society which people hadn’t necessarily recognised but they’re going to be very, very important in the future.
So that sort of quality of leadership I admire and I’m not sure that I would feel too comfortable in telling you who those individuals are (chuckles), but they are both European and North American. And I think that there are also perhaps in the developing world, men and women, who have had the faculties of leadership that I have mentioned to you.
But I think the developing world has been a more difficult world to have those capacities actually exteriorise themselves.
There’s much more stability in the political process in Western Europe and North America than there is in these other countries.
But those are the qualities that seem to me really important because, in a sense, they are gifts to future generations and that is, to me, something which is very, very important indeed.

Was your last leadership meeting productive or a time suck?
Senior leadership meetings are where strategy meets execution.
Last week our leadership team spent two full days in a conference room to grind through everything about our business. As a globally dispersed team, we needed to get together in person to review 2024 and what 2025 looks like strategically.
Coming in prepared, with a full agenda, and some facilitation support, served us well. We embraced the candor because that’s what brings ideas and growth. Walking out of there knowing where this organization stands.
How does your leadership team make the most of these moments? Let’s share insights and best practices in the comments!
