Speaking of Poverty, our initiatives aim to create jobs and provide skills training, helping individuals uplift themselves and their families. We also prioritize a Green Earth. Through environmental projects, we advocate for sustainability and responsible resource management. Finally, we know that strong Partnerships are key to achieving these goals. WHERE IS GENDER EQUALITY? As an advocate for human rights Equitas - International Centre for Human Rights Education have realized same exclusion in different years. Only 8 out of 78 world leaders attending COP29 are women. Where are young people? While young people are at the front lines of health and climate crises around the world, they’re still being sidelined at decision-making tables. This lack of representation is not small issue. Only 0.2% of climate funding for impacted communities actually reaches women’s rights organizations even though they’re the most impactful agents of change in health and climate actions. https://lnkd.in/dMc3NupR At a recent high-level forum, UN Secretary-General António Guterres emphasized the urgent need for global collaboration and innovative solutions to drive economic growth and sustainable development, especially in Arab countries and other developing regions. He highlighted six critical areas requiring action: addressing hunger, accelerating the transition to renewable energy, improving digital inclusion, enhancing education quality, creating decent jobs, and ensuring gender equality. Guterres stressed that achieving these goals demands substantial financial investments and systemic reforms to the global financial architecture. Furthermore, the UN General Assembly recently adopted a political declaration aimed at accelerating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This declaration includes support for an SDG Stimulus plan, proposing at least $500 billion annually to assist developing countries in overcoming financial challenges and advancing sustainable development

South Africa's climate governance improvement requires bridging the gap between policy goals and implementation and integrating social aspects like gender equality and youth involvement. As a result, the Youth Climate Champions (YCC) under the Climate Ambition to Accountability Project (CAAP) a collaboration between the WWF South Africa, Climate Action Network South Africa (SACAN), and the Institute for Economic Justice (IEJ), hosted an intergenerational dialogue in partnership with the Presidential Climate Commission (PCC). The event's theme was "Bridging Generations: Fostering Future-Ready Youth for a Just Transition" aimed to foster intergenerational dialogue, focusing on youth's role in driving transformative change and equipping them with the necessary skills and resources for a future that prioritises environmental integrity, social justice, and economic resilience

just wrapped up an incredible course and obtained the certificate in global justice at #Saylor.org Academy. Here, I will share that I have learned about global justice. In this course, I have mentioned some points. Global justice refers to the concept of fairness and equity on a global scale, which aims to address disparities and inequalities among countries and peoples worldwide. Human Rights: Ensuring that all individuals have access to fundamental rights, such as freedom, equality. Economic Justice: Addressing global inequalities in wealth and resources. This includes fair trade, reducing poverty. Environmental Justice: Promoting sustainable development and addressing the disproportionate impact of environmental degradation on poorer nations and communities. On March 17, 2024, I had the pleasure of visiting a secondary school in my community to discuss the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This visit was a part of my Own-School project under the UN SDSN Youth - Nigeria initiative. During the session, I presented a slide deck to the students, introducing them to all 17 SDGs. I made sure to simplify the content to ensure it was easy for everyone to understand. The presentation covered each goal's essence, from eradicating poverty to ensuring quality education, promoting gender equality, and fostering climate action. The most rewarding part of the experience was the interactive conversation that followed. The students were incredibly engaged and showed a remarkable eagerness to make a difference. They asked insightful questions about how they could contribute to these global goals and came up with creative ideas for raising awareness, fundraising, and organizing clean-up events. Their enthusiasm was contagious, and it was heartening to see such young minds committed to creating a positive impact in their community. The discussion was not just about learning; it transformed into a brainstorming session where students planned actionable steps they could take immediately. A special thanks to my little volunteers who joined me and helped facilitate the session. Their support was invaluable and contributed to the success of the event. Overall, it was a thrilling experience, and I left the school feeling inspired by the students' passion and dedication to the SDGs.
