The U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) isn’t interested in the American public—or even the game itself. For years, it’s been riddled with corruption, conflicts of interest, and poor financial management. Despite generating huge revenues, the USSF somehow lost $40 million last year due to mismanagement. As long as they’re keeping MLS and sponsors happy, they couldn't care less about the sport’s growth or what fans actually want. 💰💰💰 The root issue? A corrupted system driven by profits, where suspicious donations and corporate interests take priority over player development, competitive fairness, and the passion of the game. As long as money dictates every decision, true progress in U.S. soccer is impossible. It’s time for the American soccer community to demand better—real competition, real investment in the sport.

QUESTION OF THE WEEK: At the Division I level of college athletics, hundreds of millions of dollars are generated annually by the top college football and men’s basketball programs. Although few women’s athletic programs and the other men’s sports (also called Olympic Sports) and at a vast majority of Division I schools the football and men’s basketball programs fund the non-revenue sports. Found this from back in April. EPL agrees to spend £33m more on top of the £100m they already spend on grassroots programs and good causes. In addition to what they spend on their academies (average of £3.5m per year per club). Meanwhile, in Rugby, with the professional game agreement was just announced, the RFU is still working on the grassroots proposal. This isn’t rocket science, when you don’t invest in the base, yet continue to raise the top of the pyramid ever higher, you create an unstable tower that cannibalizes itself. This is the jenga effect and will only ever end in ultimate collapse. For context, the EPL is spending 70% of what Prem Rugby generates annually on grassroots initiatives in addition to what they spend on their own player pathways and development.
