SD Math International Competition in Erbil On September 14th, 2024, the SD Math International Competition was held at the Dedeman Hotel in Erbil, marking a significant event in the world of mathematics education. Organized by the Learning Journey Institute in collaboration with Tishk International University (TIU) and the SD Math Program, the competition brought together talented students from Kurdistan, Iraq, and several European and Arab countries, showcasing their mathematical skills and passion for learning. Sponsored by the Mathematics Department, King School, and Mars Labs Media Agency, the event highlighted the global importance of mathematical education and problem-solving. Several prominent personalities from Erbil, including university professors, school principals, and trainers, graced the competition with their presence. Media coverage from local and national channels captured the excitement, further emphasizing the significance of the event. The competition was a great success, fostering international collaboration and encouraging young mathematicians to pursue excellence. Participants from diverse backgrounds had the opportunity to engage with one another, building friendships and enhancing their mathematical abilities. Science holds great importance as it serves as a means to understand the signs of Allah in the natural world and deepen one’s faith. The Quran encourages exploration, observation, and reflection on the universe, pointing out that knowledge is a path to recognizing the Creator. Following the path our students are preparing for the biggest science fest, and as a trainer, I am playing the role of- Asking reflective questions on how perfectly Allah has designed the sun’s energy to sustain life, how can this project help us better understand the purpose of Allah’s creation?" Provoking their thoughts on their "ethical use of knowledge" by giving examples like as we discover solar power, we should also think critically about how we use it. I'm visiting projects and asking them, how are we mindful of our responsibilities towards the earth, a role Allah gave us? Sharing sahabas events to reflect on collaboration and unity. Highlighting how they used to work in a team and cooperate. It's astonishing to see the impact. Provoking their thoughts on how they can help each other better. Through every lesson plan, project, event, and question,educators' vital role is to create an environment where students can relate their purpose of learning. #SDG4 #QualityEducation #ScienceFair
