Do you celebrate or feel celebrated? Let's remember that employees are the backbone of any company. They are not just assets but also your customers. While focusing on satisfying customers, we must recognize the influence and importance of the employees, both past and present. Well-planned employee gatherings significantly foster goodwill between management and staff, particularly during challenging times, serving as a platform for healing rifts, boosting morale, reducing resentment, and enhancing workplace harmony and productivity. It's crucial to remember that your employees are not just your assets but also your customers. This dual role highlights their value and the need to treat everyone respectfully. Celebrations impact morale, enthusiasm, and productivity, emphasizing recognizing and appreciating your employees. TIP: Show appreciation for your employees by holding monthly birthday celebrations in the employee lounge for those with birthdays that month. This simple recognition can profoundly impact morale and camaraderie, making your employees feel valued and fostering a positive work environment. Similarly, planning retirement events for your long-term employees and inviting all staff and clients connected with the retirees is a powerful way to foster unity and ensure that no one leaves the company unrecognized. This gesture of appreciation can significantly boost employee morale. An end-of-year holiday celebration sets a wonderful tone for the New Year, further reinforcing the value of these small but meaningful gestures. Chapter 7 covers both employee soirees and family-focused events: https://bit.ly/3OdnDnT or visit GloriaPetersen.com for seminar information. #events #familyfocused #birthdaycelebrations #retirementparties #holidaycelebrations #eventplanning #eventbehavior #employeecamaraderie #worryfreesoiree

"You gotta use what you got to get what you want." This line isn’t just iconic—it’s a whole vibe for how we should approach our time off. You’ve got PTO, weekends, and holidays like Thanksgiving coming up, so ask yourself: Are you really going to rest? Or are you just swapping one kind of busy for another? Time off is your chance to recharge, reset, and reconnect with what matters. Don’t waste it. Sit down. Unplug. Use this time to take care of you. Let’s make our time off work for us. #BurnoutRelief #HookyWellness #TakeBetterBreaks #LeadershipDevelopment

The “Couple’s Day”…… PTO, if used correctly, is one of the most powerful benefits that helps me stay at 100% inside and outside of work. My company is great about offering it, and I believe it should be used regularly. This year, my wife and I have become more intentional with how we use our PTO. With some financial goals in mind, we've cut back on big vacations and weekend getaways. So what to do with all that leftover time off? Enter the "Couple’s Day"—the simplest, most rewarding concept. We pick a random day off, put our phones on DND, and just focus on each other. A few weeks ago, we spent less than $100 on a day that included a relaxed workout, a coffee date, 18 holes of golf, and lunch by the river. The best part? We felt completely recharged—not just for work, but as parents—because we made time for each other. I highly recommend it: take a day off, spend it with your partner, and if you plan it right, you won't miss a beat at work.

Summer is up, which means most are going on vacation within the next 2-3 months. I just wanted to remind everyone how important taking time off is and reflecting on (really reflecting on) how 2024 has gone so far. Is everything going on track in terms of your goals? If not, - What is the main thing for that being the case? - What is the number one thing we can do differently to change that? If yes, - What are the 2 main reasons it's going smoothly? - Why are we not using all of our time on those things then? I always like to do quarterly reviews, it has a compounding effect on my results.

The Art of Unplugging: Embracing Vacation Time for Family and Renewal In today's fast-paced world, the concept of taking a break often seems like a luxury we can't afford. But what if I told you that stepping away from the hustle and bustle is not just a luxury, but a necessity for our well-being? As I sit back and reflect on my recent vacation, a period of unplugging and reconnection with my family, I am filled with gratitude for my team and for Truist, whose generous provision of paid time off has been a blessing. The Benefits of Unplugging Unplugging from work and daily routines allows us to: - Recharge Mentally and Physically: Just like our electronic devices, our minds and bodies need time to recharge. Disconnecting helps in reducing burnout and stress. - Strengthen Family Bonds: Quality time with family without the distractions of work emails or calls can deepen relationships and create lasting memories. - Boost Creativity and Productivity: A well-rested mind is more creative and productive. New experiences and environments can spark innovative ideas. - Gain Perspective: Distance from work can provide a new perspective, helping us to see the bigger picture and realign our goals. I cannot express enough how thankful I am to my team. Their support and understanding make it possible for me to take this time away without worry. They are the unsung heroes who keep the wheels turning, demonstrating incredible teamwork and dedication. To Truist I extend my heartfelt thanks for valuing teammates’ well-being and work-life balance. This policy of paid time off is not just a company benefit; it's a statement that the health and happiness of teammates are a priority. As we all navigate through our professional journeys, let's remember to take a step back, breathe, and enjoy the world around us. Unplugging is not just about turning off our devices; it's about turning on life's experiences, especially those shared with loved ones. Here's to finding your own path to unplugging and rediscovering the joys of life beyond the screen. #Unplugging #FamilyTime #WorkLifeBalance #MentalHealth #Truist #truistcares

🎁 Holiday Gift-Giving: Turning Team Budgets into Joyful Memories 🎁 Gift-giving in the workplace is often a highlight of the holiday season - but not everyone has the time or resources to participate equally. Why not reimagine the tradition? One memorable approach: Use your team event budget to host a “White Elephant” gift exchange where you provide the gifts! This keeps the experience fun, inclusive, and stress-free. It’s not about the gifts themselves—it’s about the laughter, surprises, and shared joy that build connections. 💳 Other budget-friendly holiday ideas: Host a "Gratitude Exchange" where team members write notes of appreciation for each other. Create a “Holiday Hobby Raffle,” with small prizes like puzzles, books, or DIY kits. Plan a group activity like decorating cookies, building gingerbread houses, or a festive trivia game. The best gifts for your team aren’t just wrapped in paper—they’re the memories and bonds you create together. What’s the most creative holiday tradition your team has celebrated? 🎉 #TeamBuilding #HolidayTraditions #WorkplaceCulture #EmployeeEngagement #ChartYourSuccess
