An amazing #achievement for a venerable lady of the seas, now over 90 years old, as she circumnavigates Cape Horn for her first time. Reading the news and watching the video gave me chills for several reasons: 1) 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Even the most ambitious goals can be attained with persistence. Don't give up! 2) 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤: The crew's expertise and collaboration were pivotal in navigating this challenging passage. It underscores the importance of every team member in achieving collective success. 3) 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐊𝐞𝐲: Selecting the right moment to set sail is crucial. Just like in business, having 'good wind' can often depend on our timing and preparation. Qatar has a dedicated First lounge in Doha and a few aircraft with a First cabin, so it makes sense that they will address the issue sooner rather than later. The measure of international First has been a private flat bed "suite," with some sort of concierge and extensive catering, but the suite is now firmly in Business territory. I'd love to see the customer data and be a fly on the wall during discussions around this product and how they decide to differentiate it from their Q Suite business class - is it about radically more space? More personalization? Even more privacy, or something more social? Augmented services on the ground? Or something else?
