We’ve now landed back in Australia after a highly successful 5 week trip around the world. What this trip has proven to me is that nothing compares to the ‘boots on the ground’ knowledge you gather when you travel to your work destinations. Compare this to the constraints of ‘online’ work whether it be emails, web searches, Teams/Zoom meetings etc, you can only gather so much information and perspective in this manner. It obviously has its place and is a valuable tool in business today, but nothing replaces shaking someone’s hand and chatting with them, whether it is a factory contact, distributor, end user or even just a local that has nothing to do with your work, the value in that personal interaction can never be replaced. The feedback and response that we received on the product has been incredible during this soft launch process. Now that we’re home, the work continues leading up to our product launch, we are excited to release this revolutionary product to the market.

🌍 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 🌟 There’s nothing quite like face-to-face interactions to build meaningful relationships. While digital meetings have their place, real human connections make all the difference—and we’ve been on a mission to make those connections happen. Over the last two weeks, our Product Director, Mike Moran, has covered incredible ground: 3 countries, 24 cities, and 74 locations. 🚀 One highlight? Canada! 🇨🇦 From the warm hospitality of our partners to the unforgettable moments over maple syrup (we’re officially hooked! 🥞🍁), it was a joy to meet with customers and prospects. Whether in Canada, London, or elsewhere, every meeting, demo, and even the occasional round of crazy golf reminded us why we do what we do—putting people first. As we gear up for more face-to-face meetings across North America and Europe in the coming weeks, we’re energized by the exceptional year we've had at The Floow and excited to continue growing these treasured relationships into 2024. Here’s to more miles, more smiles, and more partnerships built on trust and collaboration! 💼✈️ #CustomerConnections #HumanTouch #TravelWithPurpose #CanadaAdventures #BuildingRelationships #FaceToFace #TheFloow #GratefulPartnerships #MapleSyrupLovers #BusinessTravel #GreatYear

There’s nothing quite like a holiday to have you refreshed, ready and raring to go! Back from New Zealand adventuring around the South Island is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen. This year I have implemented 2 things for when I travel (both for work and pleasure) which have been a game changer for me. I’ll share them below incase they help you… 1. Having a day off after I travel to catch up on admin, emails and getting sorted at home allows me to get back in the game and kicking goals the following day rather than being distracted trying to do both. 2. Setting an out of office which goes a couple of days after the trip to manage expectations for delaying replies to non important communication allowing me to put customers first. And getting back for an end of quarter wrap up and kick off for our most exciting quarter yet is my kind of return 🔥 #salestraining #saleshack #salestips #salesgoals

I switched my morning beach walk for a 6 hour round commute to London 😅 And here’s why it’s worth it 👇 Yesterday was my first co-working day in London after 2 months working in Spain. And simply put…..12 hours in London was more productive than 2 months in Spain 🫣 Sometimes you can’t beat face to face meetings In the space of one day we managed to: 🎯Finalise Q2 targets 📈Discuss strategy updates for Q3 👀Get clear on the vision for the rest of the year 👯♀️Understand where I need support and where Lottie Unwin (she/her) could help provide it I’ve left with a full cup after seeing the team in person, clearer on our vision and with lots of exciting actions to help drive Up World forward. I love working remotely but sometimes co-working days just can’t be beaten ✌🏼 Ps. I need to learn to take more pictures with the team! 😅

I love traveling to visit clients, it is a great opportunity for face-to-face time plus I get to learn about a new culture and understand more about how my clients like to operate. Cultural empathy is such a crucial part of my role because how a team in Germany operates could be totally different to how a New York team functions. Diving into these nuances has meant that my customer relationships have improved in these ways: 💬 Adapting to cultural expectations leads to more effective communication 🤝Trust building is done in different ways depending on the culture, in some areas it’s important to build personal relationships before jumping into business chat 🙌 Better understanding of how processes work leads to better problem solving as a result 🤗 I have learned how to present depending on my audience’s culture which ultimately invites higher customer engagement How do you prioritize cultural empathy in your role? #CustomerSuccess #GlobalClients #CulturalEmpathy #EffectiveCommunication

I keep pinching myself that I got this opportunity And it was a big leap of faith from something more secure. I’ve been attempting to improve my Spanish for 8 years with the help of my wife and in-laws (who are originally from Mexico) after a two-year service mission in Los Angeles. I love Mexico and traveling to LATAM, and in this next part of the story, I keep pinching myself for how lucky I am… I learned how most of our food was grown in Mexico and Peru, speak with farmers, discuss their problems, and see what went into feeding the world. A few lessons from these trips: 1) Service Design considerations before solving things with software. Don't assume a UI interface will be the output of customer research. We ended up deprecating customer-facing front ends and doubling down on better concierge experiences because the business model was the high ticket and required longer sales cycles. 2) Product led is over-hyped. It leads to ignoring other critical business functions. I'm more business-led; in Peru, I was assisted by our company field ops team, who were responsible for meeting with farms every week to ensure quality. They were the literal reason we had such great retention, and they were not a software product. The lessons from that trip led to us enabling our assets in field ops with software to assure more reliable service. Business-led means we sell a product or service for more than it costs to make it. This means that we care about fulfilling the customer's promise. That requires more than product managers, designers, and tech teams. It requires investment from commercial, businesses, and customer success. 3) I also learned that the gimmick of a 6-foot tall, very Caucasian blondie with blue eyes who can converse in Spanish acts as a great icebreaker, and I’ve been exploring that party trick every time I'm in Latam 😂 I love LATAM, and hope to spend more of my career there.

🎙️ Last week’s office? On the go, in #Chicago This was my reality: balancing calls with a bag of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos, a Starry, and the trusty glow of my laptop. Not exactly a traditional setup, but for #fieldmarketers and #eventplanners, “on the go” is basically our default mode. Whether it’s planning events, meeting clients, or strategizing on the fly, we make it work—anywhere, anytime. It’s a reminder that 𝗳𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗮𝗱𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 aren’t just buzzwords; they’re how we thrive. From hotel lobbies to airport lounges, field marketers and event pros with our sales partners know the hustle of making every moment count. What’s your go-to setup for getting work done on the road? Drop your tips—or your favorite travel snacks—in the comments! #FieldMarketing #EventPlanners #Networking #IYKYK
