How can you help reduce food waste? Here are some easy ways: - Learn how to store food properly. Many fruits and vegetables have longer shelf lives if they are packaged properly in a glass or BPA-free container. - Use technology for new recipes. There are so many apps/websites out there that can be used to find new meal ideas. Instead of throwing out food that you don’t know what to do with, you can find recipes that use the ingredients already in your fridge to create a delicious and wholesome meal. - Donate to local organizations. Find a local food drive to donate non-perishable foods to those in need. Organizations such as Move For Hunger are perfect for setting up and coordinating food drives in the most creative way. You will do so much good for your community by taking the time to give food to the hungry. 🌎 Join us this Earth Day in supporting A Greener World’s mission to update Food Labels Exposed! For many years, AGW’s labeling guide, Food Labels Exposed, has empowered consumers to make informed choices about their food—but since its last major revision in 2018, the guide requires updates so that it remains factual and relevant. Which is why we need your support! The Food Labels Exposed guide enables individuals to align their purchasing choices with their values which ultimately can help to protect our planet. The way we farm and eat can have a profoundly positive impact on the planet we share, and this resource helps to guide consumers to the truly meaningful claims that can make a difference. Your donation today will support our project to update the guide, so that we can provide the most current, factual, and comprehensive resource. Let's make a difference together! I love that we've seen such an increase in interest in supporting causes we care about on Giving Tuesday, but I also feel like this is a valuable (and often missed) opportunity to focus on uplifting organizations that truly match our values. Most people know that food pantries lack the supply and capacity to provide shoppers with everything they’ll need to get through the month. Restricting visits and quantity is a common solution. But somehow, these limitations have become entwined with the idea that they also prevent people from growing “too dependent” on assistance. If you're donating to an anti-hunger organization, make sure to support efforts that practice the belief that everyone deserves to eat, and understand that hunger is a systemic rather than personal problem. No one can be "too dependent" on food. https://lnkd.in/gHdfF6hB #whodeservestoeat #foodjustice

Encourage Members, if they can, to donate to a local food bank Tip 2: Spread holiday cheer by supporting your local food bank! Food banks work hard to support families in need, especially during the festive season. Encourage your club members to donate non-perishable items like canned goods, rice, or pasta. Even small contributions can have a meaningful impact! Follow our page for more tips and ideas on how your club can make a positive impact this Christmas and beyond!

As Professionals, we thrive on being resourceful at work but how about at home? As we wrap up the year and enjoy festive meals, let’s not forget: food wastage isn’t just bad for the planet, it’s bad for humanity. Someone out there is struggling to put food on their table. So, before tossing that “extra,” let’s show our professionalism extends to being intentional and thoughtful — even with food. Share, donate, or simply plan better. After all, isn’t the true spirit of Christmas about giving? 🎄 #StopFoodWaste #ShareTheLove #SustainableLiving

National Food Bank Day 2024 Shall we all take a moment to recognise that we’re in a time where we need a day dedicated to the awareness of food banks and the growing need for them in our communities, now more than ever! At APDO, we are conscious of helping our clients declutter in a healthy way, and one simple way to do that is by donating unused—but in-date—food items to your local food bank. Do you know where yours is? Take a moment to find your nearest food bank and consider what you can contribute with a quick five-minute sweep of your pantry or cupboards. We also work with our clients to think about the future, sustainability, and, most importantly, preventing waste where we can, while educating them on where to take their unused items. Let's make a difference today! Do that quick five-minute sweep and donate what you can. #APDO_UK #NationalFoodBankDay #FoodBank #Awareness #Community #BetterTogether #Declutter #Organise #PreventWaste #Donate

When I embarked on a journey of donating sanitary pads, I had no idea the impact I would make in people’s lives. Visiting numerous underprivileged communities in rural areas, I realized that disposable sanitary pads were not a sustainable solution. They are used once and then what happens in the following months? Determined to find a better solution, I started buying reusable pads made by local makers, However, this was costly. So, I took a leap and enrolled in a tailoring school. Now, I can tailor reusable pads for vulnerable communities, teach them how to craft these reusable pads and also sell them. The little profit I make helps me sustain the Donate a Pad Initiative. Never be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Growth requires pushing harder to see our efforts come to fruition. #CommunityImpact #SustainableSolutions #Empowerment #MenstrualHealth #NeverGiveUp

Our stuff doesn’t just take up space. It also takes up our time. If your stuff isn’t giving you something back, then get rid of it. Spend your time doing things you love and keep your life a bit more organized. Pro Tip: Separate items you want to get rid of into different categories such as: - Donate 🎁 - Sell 💰 - Recycle 🚮 - Trash 🗑 #ChaosPros #NAPOPro #NAPODFW #ProfessionalOrganizer
